I've never seen a chassis break there on a Pumpkin/Lunchbox. I run brake line from one side of the chassis to the other for body mounts and as a chassis support brace. I'm glad I do that!!!

Must have been the cold making it brittle. I jump my LB up to 8' in the air quite frequently on my track and never break anything. Although, I have upgraded shocks.

I had purchased a replacement chassis (for my lunchbox) a while ago, finally found the seller, rcnitrohobbies.com, under $9 shipped. it is an ebay store.

not a problem, mine also works for a good body mount, you could make yours long enough, then you could drill new holes in your pumpkin body, and theirs your unbreakable body mounts
