OFFICAL SC10 thread

RE: OFFICAL SC10 thread
Small's not a problem. You extend it and give it wider arms. The RC10T was originally a buggy too, remember? So has every truck in the RC10 series, including the SC10. What'd they do? Made it longer and gave it longer arms. Insta-truck.
It would be kind of nice to see the whole 2wd ST series go CORR-style, but that would mean that a lot more companies have to hop on to get it done. Losi would have to put down a serious offering, as would Kyosho, and the other large names in the 1/10th 2wd ST class.
It would be cool, but I really don't see it happening any time soon. I'm seeing the SC10 more as a cash cow.

RE: OFFICAL SC10 thread
i agree with the cash cow thing, associated definitely wanted a pice of the pie, traxxas definitely pioneered the corr truck thing, associated did the best job with the sc8, but I already have a 8th scale buggy, so I have no interest. I am a die hard losi fan through and through, but you said it best, I do not expect to see the 10th scale corr battle happening, Kyosho does have a gas 4wd corr truck to compete with the slayer, but I have not seen one or driven one. I guess time will tell in this case. I think if associated platformed a b44 to a corr truck, it would be way too fragile, but that would leave room for expensive upgrades, which everyone likes to do

The first shipment of SC10's have shipped out according to AE's website.
I just checked my Tower pre-order and mine still says Early April.
I might be looking at getting it next week.
I'm not in big hurry though, but the manual is already online and the diff is heavy duty.

RE: OFFICAL SC10 thread
I'm disappointed in the SC10...It may be a great truck & all... but the SLASH offers you a RTR for the same price. Was AE NOT paying attention??I'm a BIG FAN (owning several AE Vehicles), But the attraction of a Slash is the price & the durability! Why couldn't they have done the same? They built a Ferrari to compete with a Honda civic. The chassis plate on the SC10 should have been built more like the Slash instead of an RC10t. To clarify...I'm also talking from a racers point of view. I race my Slash at a couple different tracks in the California Bay Area, http://www.deltarc.com/ http://www.norcal-hobbies.com/index.html & the Slash STOCK spec class is HUGE! JUST WISH they made it a $200.oo Contender. Because I have a CHEAP Slash, I probably wont buy an SC10. THEY ARE COOL TRUCKS...not taking anything away from them. But there definitely in a class of there OWN> Just my opinion

I think you said it best yourself right there in the end the SC10 is in a class on it's own. I'm looking forward to the SC10 build hopefully when Tower says early April they mean like shipping out in the first week.

From pages 1,2, and 3 this is what i cam up as.
Any transmission can be as good as people build it. The AE transmission is really strong, so if you dont built it perfectly it wont strip gears TO A POINT. If you are running a 3s lipo and have the diff screw really loose, of course itis going to blow through diff gears.
The SC10 should be a 1/10 2wd corr truck. Did anyone see the new ROAR SCT class? There is a class for everything, Kyosho, Associated SC10 and SC8, and Traxxas Slayer and Slash. For the 10th electric, the SC10 will be ran in the open class against mod slash's.

RE: OFFICAL SC10 thread
By the way, I cant believe no one has posted the video of the SC10s and 1 SC8 running at OCRC! Here is the link, [link]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAOhl3nc7wU[/link]. Looks like a pretty good race. The filmers camera died at 3:50.... The black truck that leads most of the race is the SC8. The White & Black truck that nips at it's tail is the SC10. If you watch closely, you will see that it actually took over/passed the SC8 at about 3 minutes or so. The SC8 had alot of traction and power, it took the double out of the hole most of the time. The SC10 landed on the back side of the jump and sling over the next jump with precision touch. There is another SC10 that is white in there but he got caught up in traffic. Some really good racers were driving the SC10, Kurt Wenger of Associated was driving one of the SC10s.

ORIGINAL: FairTax4me
That SC8 just didn't have enough room. Any idea what motor he was running? What were they running in the 10s?

RE: OFFICAL SC10 thread
at rctech someone is building one , the kit saysit comes with bearings but not the ones that go into the steering posts 1/8x1/4 bearings . pretty misleading since it says it comes with bearings . but another 11.00 for bearings isint bad

RE: OFFICAL SC10 thread
Anyone have thier's yet? Tower just got thier shipment in today.
Before I attempt to build it I'll buy some titanium turnbuckles and some rpm rod ends.
I'm not worried about the threaded shock bodies and the other stuff right now.
I believe I have some extra bearings to use in the steering rack since the kit doesnt come with them.
