I'm watching too. Trying to decide between this, the Dark Impact, and the Hotshot. No racing for me, but I do want good durability.

I was just thinking, there sure is a gaping hole in the Traxxas line-up where there should be a 4WD buggy.

They'd make it another RTR though, if they made one. [:@]

Im done with the main assembly and starting to install my gear. So far I have run into two small issues. The center spur gear bearing block and cover assembly can be a bear to align and install the retaining bolts. I may need to run a larger spur gear as the stock setup runs out of adjustment before I get proper gear mesh, so Im running a larger pinion gear (26T) than I would have liked to start with. After I get the gear installed and the tires glued, I should know if the gearing is going to be an issue.

Ok guys, I got all of my gear installed before I left for work. When I get home I will glue up the tires and maybe paint the body. Its been raining here on and off, so it may take a day or two to do some testing.

Cyber10b owner i had the same issue initially once you get them bolted it seems to get easier as the plastic softens a bit, you can try loosening the 2 bolts in the rear top deck before installing the spur and cover it helps a bit,as for gear mesh once u settle the motor in place you can turn it to get proper gear mesh before tightening down srew, cause yeah without turning you will have a hard time lol, anyway i am running a castle sidewinder geared 21/81 swapped out the stock spur for a kawada,it was just to damn noisy for som reason must be the material.I have had to buy the rear univerals from the D4 because the stock dogbone kept poppin out till it was lost, sofar that was the only problem.[8D]

Cmon street, cut me some slack....I know how to rotate the motor to set gear mesh, lol. Im also thinking about taking some of the deck material off so the gear cover will hold the front center bearing better. Mine is fairly loose.

Got the tires glued....hopefully no rain tomorrow.

OK guys,
I have a Stampede I've been playing with a couple years now, it's been upgraded to a VXL setup and this is WAY too much for this high CG 2WD truck. I've been trying to find the best 1/10 4WD platform to put this into. I have stick packs and 2cell and 3cell lipos and don't want something setup for saddle packs. Do you guys think this is probably the best fit? give me some other choices that fit the bill to compare to. Thanks

Isaiah

No convert to a rustler, 2wd isn't enough, can you say nothing but wheelies, standing backflip in loose gravel.
I am either putting this setup into a 4WD offroad or an onroad TC

any suggestions, would this fit the bill????
it's looking like this or an HPI cup car...LOL

Ok guys, with the Mamba 4600KV system, running on a 150ft runline clay oval, this thing is fast! After many collisions with walls, barriers and other trucks my Cyber 10B is fine. My buddy who has the same truck broke a battery retainer after I T-Boned his truck! Had to tighten the diffs after the 4th battery, then all was well. Wish I could say my nitro stuff held up this well!

So, after your first impressions, would this hold up to a VXL or similar BL/LiPo setup in the long run, I will bash lightly and jump at BMX track and maybee occasionally race at local 1/8 buggy track....
this or an on-road car for my VXL????????????

I was running 2S LIPO with the Mamba 4600KV motor so I think it will hold up to the VLX system with no problems. As far as will it hold up to bashing, I say it depends a lot on how good a driver you are, Fast hard crashes tend to break shtuff! If your that guy that can land the crazy jumps and pull off all the sick tricks....you should have no problem. If your the other guy that cant mentally switch left and right when the car is coming at you......good luck! Either way, which ever driver you are.....keep smiling, cause this is just a realy fun truck to drive.

usually I land MOST of my jumps on the wheels LOL
I understand at BL speeds anything will break, I meant drivetrain wise, are the diffs, axles, etc strong.

If I'm not careful I can pop a plastic stub axle easily on my TRAXXAS

Thanks guys......

Would you get this instead of the tamiyia durga for racing at the club? I read the review on the durga and it looked pretty good but except the front end broke and the rear shock tower is junk. But its a belt though. How do they compare to the shafts? Would be club racing tons of b44's

Here is mine. I love it and to me it drives better than my XXX4G+. The only thing that sucks is product support.[:'(]

Doesn't seem like the stock pinion and the D4 Slipper clutch spur will mesh under any circumstance. I'm wondering if my 22/80 gear ratio with a 5700 MM combo will be to high ?!?! I see you can buy 84 tooth spur's but I don't see compatible 87 tooth spurs for sale any were.
