Default E-revo Twin-Titans

Well... They finally died![:@]
ohh well, time to buy a new motor!
I was looking to get a Single 700-HO Motor, but was curious to see what elts there was.
I don't want to go brushless as i have heard that they are no good in the water(which i often find myself in).
I will be bashing in my backyard and get to the track once and awhile.
Any suggestions?
Also i have heard that water break-in is helpful. How So?
Wouldn't water hurt the motor? [&:]
Any input is helpful!

Andy

The only option I know of is the KD 700 HOs. I run a single one and and very satisfied. The other thing is now that the Summit is out it shouldn't be too long and we should know what the 775 in that is like. Could be an option?

Do you get any better run times with the 700 HO?

Those are two options. I have heard of somebody running dual 775's in a emaxx. He used the stock EVX and it worked ok as far as I know.

It's hard to say. My Titans died pretty quick and in making the change to the 700HO I also changed from nmih to 8000mah lipos. So I really can't compare.

There are plenty of people who swear by it. Just google it or search the forums and you'll soon find that out. I myself really don't know. Probably the best bet is if you're thinking about the 700HO then email Dan, he's done some testing and I'm sure will have an answer for you.

another option is the dewalt 12v motor, reading lots of good stuff on that as well. single motor is an very easy mod, more powerfull than twin titans, way more torque. it also as the advantage over the 700-ho in that it has replaceable brushes.
ive heard a lot of good about the ho's, but the dewalt is what a number of former ho guys are swapping to now. more torque, more reliable, beter lifespan than the ho.

check out this thread from the traxxas e-revo forum

and here from rc universe

just my two cents. I'm going to the dewalt myself, been in contact with a few of these guys, they still rave about their motors.

good luck in your pick

Do you have to do anything to mount it?
Any new holes in the mount?
Ohh i just read the forums you linked. I don't really want to have to mess around with the stock setup, and being somewhat new to the hobby i can see myself messing up something and having to buy a new mount. I like the idea though. I guess ill have to look into lipo soon. they seem a lot quicker compared to nihm batteries.

what's a few min worth of dremeling? a motor mount is cheap, worst case anyway. maybe order in a new mount to test on with the motor?
prie wise, a lot cheaper than going with the ho from kershaw. $45.99 for the motor from then, order the dewalt from sears for under $22. seems a no brainer to me, half the price, better power.
worst case, you f up your motor mount, it's only a $12 par anyway, still way ahead of the game. though seriously, looks to be pretty minor adjustments t the mount. my first time to, but its a pretty basic install. the mounting positions are 29mm stock, to 32mm on the dewalt. that's only 1.5mm perside, couldn't see how that would cause any real weakness it the mount.

check out some of the video online, wheelies on demand, that's better than what i've seen it some video tests of the ho motor.

mine's on order now, i'll post my review once it goes in. can't wait, this should hold me over till a brushless setup this summer :-)

He's geared lower than the guys who run the 700's. So it would make sense that he's popping wheelies easy.
