SMC is working on a 3S 5200mah 40C pack. Don't know when it will be available, but they have 2S packs out now. And from the stuff I've read people really like them. Most are getting better test numbers than what SMC prints on the labels.

X2 on the Flight Powers. I've met quite a few plane guys through my LHS, all of them say they'll run nothing but Flight Power. IIRC they use Kokam cells.
They use ThunderPower cells.
So ThunderPower makes their own cells?

Pretty much as long as your not wasting your money on minamps you'll be fine if you are running the right pack.

I don't have Lipos yet. I am thinking about some Zippys. Do you guys run hard cases? I don't see the 5000 in hard case. Will 20C be okay for a CC SW 4600?

1. Yes and No some of my batts are hard cased some are soft. Either way just make sure you handle them with respect and it doesn't matter

2. I would agree do not see it in a hard case either.

3. Yes it will be fine 4 of my lipo's are 20c

Hope that helps
Adrian

Thanks for the info. I am thinking about a couple hard-cased 2S 4000mah and one regular 3S 5000mah (for parking-lot speed runs). I am looking at the Turnigy ACC-6 charger.

Enerland! That was the one. I knew it was one of those two. Thanks for the refresher.

Is there any other company other then maxamps that make a 8000mah lipo?

It is impossible, but i am not sure there are somebody who exaggerates the capacity, because it is just a label, so everyone can write higher capacity on it.
It isn't impossible. 8000 mah packs have been on the market. I have some 5 cell 8000 mah batteries for airplanes true to the label.

PS, you website is impossible for us to read.

Daisy was technically right; I'm pretty sure nobody makes 8Ah cells. All the 8Ah packs I've seen were 2p, so they only used 4Ah cells. The highest capacity I've seen on an individual cell is 5 or 6Ah. Of course, if you don't mind the slight increase in weight from carrying a 2p pack, you get exactly the behavior you'd get from a true 8Ah pack.

into flightpower, polyquest, a123, thunderpower, neu energy... Those are all the highest of quality. And I forgot to mention the amp ratings they claim from their packs are bogus. Their are way to many charts on rc-m showing the dropoff of the maxamps cells way to soon which means they are poor.
Have people tested their most recent cells? I tested their cells back when their prices were reasonable, and they scored about equal with the original venom LiPos of today. But I'm not buying their super-expensive cells today, not when I can get proven brands for half the cost. And I don't know anyone else who has can do proven testing and has had the will to fork over so much cash for their cells just to test them and see how they are today. No one seriously in the hobby is using these things, are they?

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_83...tm.htm#8310589

Thunderpower V2 test among the top, as does hobby people's 'impulse' brand, which surprised me.

oh, sorry, i have made a mistake, i mean there are no 8000mAh individual cell on the market, the highest capacity of individual cell is 6200mAh, so if you use a 2P 4000mAh pack, it can reach 8000mAh, and if you use a 2P 6200mAh pack, the capacity can be 12400mAh, so it is not surprised.
In addition, there is an "English" button on the right corner of our website, you can change it to English, but our website is updating now, so many new batteries are not on the website.

The amp ratings are bogus? so terrible, so it is very important to test the battery before selling out to insure the actual capccity and the safety for use.

Holy Cow! For a 5000 Mah that is 200 amps! I could nearly start my GMC truck with that!
