RE: Best 3s lipo
2+ years ago I got a maxamps 3s 4000mAH for under $100., these days you can get the Zippy for half that price, just don't get the hardcase Zippys as lots had problems with those. If you the best there is team orion, thunderpower V2, Hobbypeople's Impulse brand tested very well too. You should have 4000mAH 20C minimum and preferably more. Whatever you do, don't do what I did 2+ years ago today... times change.

Definitely avoid the Zippy flightmax hardcase packs. They have the worst soldering I've ever seen on a commercial product! Because of that, the rated 100A discharge cells only make up a 60A discharge pack (one of my packs open circuited running it on a lower power setup using a 60A ESC that didn't even get warm).

Since your car is a Tamiya Rising Storm, already paired up with a MM/4600 or 5700, IMO 3 cell would be tooo much. A good 2s will be fine for a 1/10 4wd buggy.

RE: Best 3s lipo
i would say go for a zippy flightmax battery. They are cheap and give so much power compared to some of my other packs. Weather you want a 3 cell lipo or a 2 cell is your choice really. Im not to familiar with the tamiya cars so...
