Got my Tundra thanks to LB
Well I've wanted a High-Lift for quite some time but didn't pull the trigger for some reason. Then Tamiya released the Tundra version so I started saving post haste. Long story short, I finally got one and just finished building and shake-out testing. I added the MFC-02 and bearings all around. I decided (at the last second) to run it on a Futaba 4EXA with the extra spring to add self-centering to the left stick.
Here's my review. If you like Scale Kits BUY ONE NOW. It's a blast to build and drive. Nice touches all around. Thorough details though not as complex as the Tamiya Semi kits. That being said, I have to say I enjoy driving my Tamiya Scania a little more than the Tundra, but the Tundra is still a great truck.
Special thanks go to Lunchboxer for shipping from LB Warehouse. It went more like a favor from a friend than a transaction.
Anyways, I snapped some pics to share, so here you go........

That thing looks too nice to run.....
I love the gun metal finish!! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
LOL, it was the only Tundra to ever left the LB Warehouse.. Yama86 and I chatted in my Aeromax thread before, and one day he asked me if I have any Tundra.. I told him that I would check w/ my contact.. and turned out that there is one, so I got it shipped and sold it to Yama86 for more than $100 less than Tower price..
Not too shabby.. [8D]

Pretty interesting yama. It does look too nice to run, unless you drive it scale too, hehehe. The other school of thought is that you can take the pix when it is mint, like you have above, then drive the heck out of it and not cry if it gets scratched up.
I thought they were interesting too, but I am able to put my finger on why I haven't pulled the trigger: the multi-hundred dollar price tag. It's the only thing wrong with Tamiya. Well, that and my local shops don't stock Tamiya.
I'd like to see a video too of how you drive it and.

That's a real nice color for the truck. You really got a great finish with it too. Myself, I don't dare try any clear coat or polishing for fear of messing up a decent paint job.
Yeah, good old Lunchboxer helped me once too with a Pajero. He's the man! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
I can only imagine that like George Baily in "It's a Wonderful Life" if he ever gets in a jam, all his friends will come over and pay back the acts of kindness he's shown them over the years.

LOL, no worry.. it really is beneficial to me as well..
The more I buy from the distributor, the better price I get, and then, I pass on the saving to my friends.. so it helps everybody out..

Thanks for all the nice comments. I took some video of my truck sitting on the workbench testing lights and running a little around the basement chasing dust bunnies.
I was playing around with a new camcorder and new editing software. This video won't leave you wondering why I never got into cinema, but it shows some of the features of the truck.

The MFU for the HiLift series => does it have 2 sound profiles or 3?
I remember when it was first released, it had 2 setup.. a 4-cylinder sound (for Hilux) and a V8 turbo diesel sound (for F-350)..
Tundra, having a gasoline V8.. which one to use.....

Now that I've figured out my camcorder and editing stuff I need to get some better videos.

Added one of the 3Racing winches to the front brush guard. Strange coincidence, the winch was already painted the same color as my truck. I couldn't have matched it better if I tried.
Also finally got around to mounting the snowboards in the bed of the truck.

How do you control the winch?! I remember you use it w/ a 4EXA, right?! So no extra channel for it? Or?
Looking good!! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

Ok, now that I've got my summit, this is the next one on my list. My only problem is they cost soooo much in Canada. What's the best price for these in the states?

Love the Tundra! If I ever get the urge in the future to build a scale truck again this is the kit I would get. Awesome job on the paint too! [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
