Default Help finding a Tamiya part

So, Ijust found out today that I'm missing a screw from my brand new Brat. Didn't even get three battery packs worth of running.

It is a 3x8mm step screw that holds the front wheel carrier to the front suspension. Part BD2, from ScrewBag D.

TamiyaUSA is out of stock. The only one I can find on ebay is in the UK, for $13 + God knows how much shipping, waiting, and hassle.

Got a busted Frog, Lancia, or Brat and can spare a screw?

Can anyone help a brother out?

Mine are all 4mmx10 too bad (nice when yours strips out perhaps) Is there a part number like this 50585 in addition to BD2?

It doesn't have its own part number, but it is from Screw Bag D, which is part 9465665 or 58354

I saw parts set (tree) D, but not Screw Bag D anyway.

I went to Ace Hardware, bought the right size metric screw and "simulated the step portion" with some heat shrink tubing. Then, I Loc-Tited it in place when it had been tightened enough. That should hold it until I can source the proper screw.

I'm thinking of looking for a wrecked Frog as a parts vehicle. We'll see what turns up.

Ah! I see it, Screw Bag D for the Frog!  $7.

It says he has qty. 2. I enquired about shipping for one. (should be cheap, since they could just be dropped in an envelope since I'm in the US)

In a pinch you were on the right track going to the local hardware store and getting the bolt. You could have picked up some K&s tubing and made a small shim spacer from the tubing and super glued or taped it to fix it on the bolt???. the other option would have been look at other kits that have the same parts. Tamiya always uses the same parts in other kits.
