I have heard good things about the Elite.  I was going to buy it from cheapbatterypacks until I found out that Hobbycity sells Lipo at the same price and sometimes cheaper than NiMh.

Venom products can be hit or miss.  I have a Venom Pro charger the first one blew smoke the first time I plugged it in.  On the good side the customer service rep replaced it no questions asked.

Turnigy is basically Zippy which is really good. I have couple of them and are very happy with the performance.

Lots of positive feedbacks on Hobbycity if you search on RCUniverse and on Google. You can't go wrong with HobbyCity.

The C rating is the discharge current you can get from a given pack. For example; the 5000mah pack you mentioned, 15C means it can be discharged at 75 amps, or 5 Ah (5000mAh) times 15. A 5000mAh, 30C pack can discharge at 150 amps. Basically, the higher the C rating, the better for racing applications.
