wait a minute, that's a brushless system in it... you sure you want to run in the rain/mud again next time?

I'm always scared that it will burn up my electronics. I bought the Mamba for $280CAD, that's alot of $$ for me, so I don't run them in the mud anymore. I used to do it with the stock XL5 electronics which I didn't really care too much about.

the VXL motor is waterproof/resistant and the mamba is water resistant, so if its not submerged its fine. Its only a 6 cell Nimh in there so it cant burn up if it gets wet. I learned that with lipo's get get them wet and they die...

I never understand the concept of waterproof and water resistant. but anyways,

I didn't know that Mamba ESCs are water resistant. So it should be fine if the ground is wet after rain?

Most electronic things are water resistent. My Hitec servos are water resistence, they have an o rings where the cases connect and an o ring where you can see the top gear. But I wouldn't dare put more than a couple drops of water on it, especially no puddles. I really wouldn't risk it, but that's just me. I never got the urgeof running in mud/snow/rain so I've never done it, but after the track is watered and some newbie floods one part of the track some water might get in my electronics.

water resistant means if it gets splash it wont hurt it but if it gets submerged in water it will be ruined

Yes neyou is right.

I emailed castle myself after hearing rumors of the side winder being waterproof and got this back:

Water resistant yes, waterproof no. Driving in the snow is fine, but
make sure you let everything dry COMPLETELY before you drive it again.

Well if they have even a very slight puncture in them and you get them wet, you are going to have an explosion. Lithium and water are a big no no, watch some videos of people mixing water and lithium on youtube, the reaction is insane.

How about the Castle motors? Since they sit close to the ground, it can get wet very easily. Are they water resistant too?

I'm pretty sure they are I know guys who were using the castle motors/ESC's in the snow. I didnt want the high KV motor so I got the VXL with the side winder but im pretty much sure all BL motors are waterproof. I have seen vids on youtube of them fully submerged, look it up.

I would still stick at least a balloon over mine . Looks like someone had no problems finding puddles outside. Thats the fun of waterproof stuff for sure.
