I agree with respect to something as complex as a car, but some NiMHbatteries shouldn't be beyond the Chinese?

Iam basically hoping that someone whos tried these can tell me if their any good, or if Ishould keep looking?I realize a 6800mah Chinese pack wont give me 6800, but even if it gave me 70%of it it would still be 4800mah
I guess it was...

The intelligence of an entire nation is determined solely on a single Ebay seller's nimh battery... makes perfect sense.

btw, it's "I guess it is."

They are about 3000-3300. I cycled C < D one of them and got bored with it.

Ohhhhh... I get it! They're supposed to be used in parallel! Then you get 6600 mah.

That's why I bought two. [][X(]
I would send a complaint through eBay about false advertisement. I hate it when sellers do that . . .

During the 30 amp test the voltage at the BATTERY'S lead (before tamiya connector) ran +.3 volts compared to the graph. The tamiya connector was 150 ° F. For comparison the powerpoles ran about 95 ° F.

During the 40 amp test the voltage differential ran .4 volts compared to the graph. The Tamiya was 200 ° and the end battery bar was 280 ° and the battery leads were about 250 °

You didn't think I was going to leave it at 10 amps did you? [sm=50_50.gif] Right after the test a cell vented and poofed out smoke , but I couln't grab the camera quick enough. I rather enjoyed this test.

Ok I still kind of new to all these test ya'll keep referencing, what is the 30amp and 40amp test prove? Is it how many amps can be safely drawn from the battery pack???

Thanks

It proves nothing and is simply an arbitrary number I selected for comparisons. 30 amps looks safe (just barely) and 40 amps is definately too high. These batts are very much like any other 3000 mah generic e-bay type packs and would be fine for slower or lighter vehicles that run for over 15 minutes on 3000 mah. For heavier apps it is recommended to replace the end battery bar with a heavy bar and the connector with a Dean's,powerpole, traxxas. I generally use 10 amps for all my subC packs and that makes it easy to compare with overlaid graphs. The bottom line is not to expect 6800 out of these , only 3300 mah.

Ok that makes sense. I bought some batteries off of ebay for my Clod which seem to perform better in terms of temperatures than my Trinity Reference Battery packs which is confusing me greatly. I can run my Clod on my 2500mah Trinity battery packs and they get extremely hot. The last time I measured it was at 145 degrees. My 4200mah batteries from All-Batteries which are tenergy batteries I have never seen get hotter than 110 degrees.

Yeah those little end bars they put on stick packs don't hold up to much. I've melted a few.

Despite the Reference pack probably being the better quality pack the Tenergy is still able to provide more current (higher amp rating) so it will naturally run cooler.

I don't know how much of a difference this might be, but the Trinity are the stick still being like this === and the Tenergy batteries I got from All-Batteries are Side by Side like this ||||||. I don't know if that would make a bigger difference in temperatures . . .

In case anyone wonders, I did e-mail the seller , informed them that the packs were only 3000 mah and got an excuse, an appology, and a refund. I returned the 2 packs to them.

And, as suspected they continue to sell as a 6800 pack to unsuspecting buyers. http://cgi.ebay.com/7-2V-6800mAh-Ni-...3A1%7C294%3A50 The price isn't too bad for what you get , but it burns me to have them label it as a 6800. I'd venture a guess that all the subC batteries they sell are the same capacity. Seller onlinepearl .

I thought it may be nice to overlay the "6800" packs from China with some "4500" packs from China. The three graphs to the right are the acepow pack that is advertised correctly as 4500 , the three shorter graphs on the left are the e-bay packs that are mislabeled as 6800. Higher capacity is to the right (longer ruintime)

10,20,30 amps.

Ihave had good luck with these. I have four of them. Long runtimes, albeit they get a bit toasty on discharge and a 3.8A charge with my Accucell-6. Still, not bad.
