Anybody having issue with the DuraTrax FlashPoint
I got this gauge couple months ago and it was perfect. Until recently, it started to become very inaccurate. I changed the battery and it did not fix the problem.
Two of my friends also have the same gauge and the readings from their FlashPoints are very similar. However, mine is way off compared to both of them.
I used to measure my skin temperature with the gauge and 10/10 times, it is always between 30 to 35Celcius. Now however, it always reads 50C to 60C.
I did a simple test today, I have 3 FlashPoints Gauges(2 from my friends, 1 is mine), I checked the engine temperature, both of my friends' gauges read 189F, only mine read 242F.
it is not just one time, it is always like that now.
Any help?

Did you change the battery with an identical replacement as the first?
Is there a screw to calibrate the device against a known standard?

I've had that trouble, but it was the battery. I bought a batch of batteries (for the dog collar) and they are not very consistent. Some of them are low/bad. cr2032.

Man, mine is coming up on 5 years old, same old battery, still works very well. You just have to keep the lens clean.

That should be based on the color of the object you're trying to take readings from...
