Those motors don't come apart, just buy a new one they are like $18. Also open the tranny and make sure those gears are re lubed and not rusting.

hmmm....well, for kicks and giggles I started prying apart my "fried" titan. I ripped the back plate off and I can see the brushes and what not, and NOW it works! Of course I can't put it back together....but when I stick it to a battery it starts spinning (very badly, since there is no rear support).

I couldn't get a reaction from it at all before I started tearing it apart....

Can I ask what the capacitors do for the electric motors? Do they give it an extra boost? Are they essential for operation?

Capacitors greatly minimize the motor "noises" that interfere with the radio signal.

Those motors are cheap cheap cheap to replace. But if you go BL, remember those motors are NOT waterproof. No more lake driving. [:-]

They hide it well. You have to look under Products - New Releases or in the News to find it. http://www.traxxas.com/scripts/trxne...php?newsid=217
