the rustler is a good basher. but it is cheap. if you have the money 4 wheel drive is always better but normally more expensive. so for somebody who has the money the flux i perfect but for somebody who dosent have the money the rustler is also reasonable for bashing. thats why i mentioned the vxl.

Heck, heres a "build your own" like I did, then you end up with a sleeper, a "wolf in sheeps clothing" [:@]

Roller chassis #3905 (brushless ready) with servos: $180

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=220451365004

Mamba Monster 2200kv system: $250

http://www.rcsuperstore.com/ProductD...CM2200&click=2

2.4 GHz radio system (you will be cutting edge) : $80

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXWPW0&P=ML

And two 3s batts, for 22.1 volts of fun: $60

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/s..._20C_Lipo_Pack

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXWPW0&P=ML

I come up with $570...................and you will have way more fun doing it. Plus no-one will touch you with this beast.

You cant hop up a regular e-savage with huge brushless power, its not made for that.............the 3905 e-maxx is brushless ready, and can handle the 2200 mamba system.

i would pay the extra 100 because i like the revos looks and the suspension is really awsome and has more costimization because of the rockers. it is also less of a monster truck then the e-maxx because it can be lowered slightly more than the e-maxx or jacked up way high to rival the e-maxx suspension because of the rockers. it is a pretty cool truck. but they are both great trucks. i have the revo and i have heard great things about the e-maxx. however i heard the revo is slightly tougher. however it really comes down to which truck he likes better also.

That seems like way too high of a kv rating, you'd probably do better with a castle 4600kv or a 3500kv velineon.
