Mamba Monster Max fails to initialize
Looking for input from the collective here. I am running a v.3 MMM ESC in my converted RC8 buggy, and occasionally, it fails to initialize. At first I thought it was overtemp protection because the first time it happened after a race, when I wanted to run some practice laps with the batteries pulled down to around 15.5V total and the motor still about 110° from previous run. The next two times it happened, it was on full batteries and cold(well, ambient) temps, not run. Just wouldn't respond at all after connecting batteries and turning switch on. After cursing, walking away to do something else and coming back, it mysteriously works. Frustrating because I already missed one heat race and had to run the main from the back(like I need any help qualifying last) Doesn't seem to be a bad switch, but it's possible. Anybody else had this issue? Any suggestions?

RE: Mamba Monster Max fails to initialize
If you get absolutely no indication the unit is turned on, I'd say the bad or intermitent switch (?)
If your throttle is off or the receiver is dead, I think you at least get blinking lights...

Well, I guess I'll just eliminate the switch then. If this is common, I don't want to worry about it going to off during a race. I've already removed the switches from all my airplane escs to eliminate possible failures.

RE: Mamba Monster Max fails to initialize
Dont cut the switch! It has nothing to do with it. I was having the same problems for a while. Did you set it up manually or through the cable? I called them and they think that from programming it manually it was still program mode and not finalized. I then re programmed it through me laptop and castlelink and it has worked fine since. Hope this helps..

Go into Castlelink and set it to factory default...then redo your settings. If it still won't work right, check the switch wiring and then replace the switch.

I could go for that IF I got ANY response from the ESC when this happens, but it's like this: plug in pack #1, plug in pack #2, turn switch on, and......nuthin! Not even powering up the receiver and steering servo, it just acts like there's no battery plugged in. Anyway, thanks for the responses, folks. I'll post more when I figure it out.
