Default rustler in some need of fixing

i have a rustler that is missing a motor, broken esc wire, missing battery hold down, bent shock shafts, and a split chassis. i have no clue how a brand new rustler could end up like this in one and a half years. i also had this truck put away on the back burners because of my new t-maxx but i recently broke the tranny and need a truck to play with till i get the t-maxx parts.

can someone help me figure out wat brushless motor system to put in and wat battery setup. and i am also wondering can i fix the previous esc.

One of the best and least costly BL setups would be the Sidewinder 4600. You will be able to run 2s or 3s lipos with it. Plus you will also be able to change the settings on the ESC via the computer.

cant' hurt to try fixing it right? unless it's still under warranty but from the sounds of it I doubt it. Try and fix it, if you can't buy a new one.

if you want to go brushless you'll need a brushless esc anyway, unless that one is brushless and you lost a brushless motor (you didn't specify)

no its the xl-5 but i was gonna fix and give it to my cousin for his stampede and i was gonna go brushless. i didnt loose the motor, the motor was taken out of my truck by one of my cousin friend which made no sense cause it was the stock motor.

well, if you try to solder it, there are 2 possible outcomes, either you fix it, or break it more. If you break it more, you still can't use it, but you tried, if you fix it, it's fixed.

I would use some 2s Zippy batts! I've heard the Sidewinder and VXL motor is a good combo

if the xl5 esc is still stock (meaning you did not change connectors or anything) traxxas will fix it for $15 - probably just send you a new one.

send the esc back to traxxas for 45$ and wala fixed but call them first and id put the mamba max with the vxl motor in it that would be really fun you could go with the sidewinder 4600kv combo or mamba max 4600kv combo the mamba max can hadle more cells and is more programable but the sidewinder is cheaper
