the mamba max should be fine as long as you don't get water on the fan intake...

You can make pretty much any system waterproof. Just need some silicone sealant, won't look pretty though. Did it to my VXL in my slash.

Why would you put sealant over the cooling fins? You only need to put it around the joints, you don't have to dunk the entire esc in it...

yeah but were talking the mamba MONSTER max it doesn't have exposed fins, tho it has a fan, maybe depending on what it looks like under the fan you can but don't cover the fan, that'll be worse than not having one...

There's no brushless system I know of that is waterproof. They put out too much heat to be sealed up to the point where water could not get in. I'd never seal one to be waterproof just because they need to flow air to not burn up. Anyways, I'd stay away from water when you are pumping 21-25v of 6S lipo power through a ESC. lol

A pic of a MM for reference. Those cooling slats need to be there. The cooling fan needs to be there. Get rid of the fan and cover those slats and you will fry that thing after a few minutes of running-guaranteed. Other ESCs are comparable in case design to the MM, so this appies to all BL ESCs.
