Default bent motor shaft

i was out messing with the t4 today an i hit a fence. i wasnt going very fast and just kinda slid into it. the truck looked fine but the shaft on the motor bent. its a mamba 5700. the motor still works fine and i think it would be a shame to junk the motor because of the bent shaft. has anybody here ever successfully straightened a shaft on a motor?

It's doablebut it's hard, you need to make it really, really straight.

I don't suppose you can get just a replacement rotor for those?

If you could find a replacement shaft it would be almost impossible to get the can open. The screws are there only to hold the ends on while the "extra strengh" epoxy sets, and for quality control parameters, as told to me by Castle several months ago.

the front set of screws come out though. if you can find a shaft you can switch it out.

Ya, the castle motors were never meant to be rebuildable, unlike the novak, LRP or Tekin motors.

See if castle will replace it. They have replaced 1/18th motors for the same reason in the past.

but its out of warranty so i doubt they would fix it. for the price they would charge me for a replacement/new motor, i could go buy a sidewinder combe. im thinking of taking it with me to school some day. i am in a class thet teaches automobile engine overhaul and they have dial indicators in there. im thinking i might be able to use the dial indicator to get it as close as i can (.001")
