Depends on the car. I've converted a couple of TL-01 cars. Simply find some longer shocks and put some rally tires on it and you're good to go.

what car/chassis are you asking about?

for the most part you'll need to increase suspension travel a bit, you may need to reinforce certain parts, def need tires mabye shocks.

if you are asking about the tt01 series, they don't make very good rally cars. look into the df03ra series of cars.

the tt01 is a very basic entry level car. if you haven't bought anything yet you'd be much better off with the df03ra.

Depends on how severe offroading you want to do.
If you just want to drive on dirt, it should be fine. For a while I had a m03 rally(lengthened shocks, rally tires and tl01 arms) and it worked very well in the dirt. Only thing that went wrong was the crappy duratrax "teflon" shieled bearings got dirt in them and became crunchy.

The df03ra would be better if you want to drive in grass too.

They're pretty close. The tt01(which the body comes with) has a 257mm wheelbase, the df03ra can be shortened to a wheelbase of 251mm.
