Rustler VXL with SPC Lipo?
I just recently purchased a rustler VXL, I am running it with a 9-cell 5000 mah pack. I would like to get something with a larger capacity, I was looking at the SPC 8000mah lipo. Does anyone have any experience with them? Ive heard people cutting into the chassis with certain battery packs. I would like to avoid doing so.
Any help is appriciated.
Thanks!

RE: Rustler VXL with SPC Lipo?
try the hobbycity lipos. a 5000mah lipo will typically run 30% longer than a 5000mah ni-mh due to efficiency and much lower voltage drop. so, a 5000mah lipo is like a 8000mah ni-mh.
a 2s lipo will have more power than a 9.6v ni-mh pack with only very slightly less top speed.
you can get a 2s hardcase lipo from hobbycity for less than $20. if you don't want to wait for them to restock, go for the softcase turnigy lipos. the 20c 5000mah turnigy series are only $10 per cell. i have the $40 4s pack, and it doesn't break a sweat pushing my 10lb buggy around at 40mph.

RE: Rustler VXL with SPC Lipo?
Man, you wernt kidding. I dont know much about lipo packs but they have some killer deals. My question was, i found a turnigy 3s25c 5800mah pack and a 3s35c 5000 mah pack. What is the difference between the 25c and the 35c? I know these are discharge rates right? The 5800mah pack will last longer am i right?
Thanks for the help!

RE: Rustler VXL with SPC Lipo?
The 5800 should last longer yes.
The 25c/35c part, as you said are discharge rates, but to be more precise, they tell you how much amperage can be drawn from the lipos, you simply multiply the capacity by the C rating.
So the 5000 35c can handle a 175amp draw while the 5800 25c can handle a 145amp draw.
For a VXL system either is fine, a VXL will never pull 145 amps.
