I have the same Onyx charger since it was released and haven't been disappointed yet, I use the Great Planes balancer http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMGS7&P=7 with excellent results, all the adapters that you would need are at the bottom of the screen

The vehicle is a traxxas 1/16 revo vxl. Thanks for the replies so far guys
Well never mind those batteries I recommended then. Those are way too big for the 1/16 size vehicles. Did you measure the size of the battery compartment or original battery and compare those dimensions to that of the batteries you're thinking of?

Jeremy z- I had seen a few recommendations on these batteries and the car just needs a minor adjustment to fit them in.  A friend of mine just purchased a 1/10 scale and so I will fwd him your suggestions. He is in the lipo market as well

BTW does anyone else besides me recognize the IC on the blinky? I don't have mine with me right now but it looked like a PIC16 with on-chip ADCs I'd bet.

Best bet is to cut off the Molex ("Tamiya") connector and solder the Traxxas one right on. The Molex connectors were originally designed for electronics and were only intended to have the connection made and broken a few times over the life of the product. They loosen up and cause heat losses in RC. Get rid of it altogether.

Those Molex connectors worked for years, because the current drain wasn't high enough to melt a lot of connectors, and because they're cheap. These days, it is a bad idea to use them at all in RC.

In your application, it looks like you're just using it on the charger, and it will probably never see more than 5 A. I'd still put a good connector on that charger though.

He doesn't have to, the charge plugs are removable from the charger, he needs to buy the Traxxas plug http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVPF2&P=M

buying the "charge plug" is WAY more expensive than just buying some banana plugs and a male *whatever you want* plug and soldering the two together.....
It's just like the pre-mixed anti freeze at the store, they charge you more for less stuff....it's how they make money off dumb/lazy people
