I'll post more vids above as they are uploaded.
I drove it this morning, it ran for maybe 10 minutes off the included battery. It's rugged, stable, and perfectly controllable on the loose dirt. One nice thing is this truck hardly ever seems to land on it's top. Quite often, it would land on its side and just sit there. By turning the wheels properly and giving it full reverse, I could almost always flip the truck back to wheels side down and keep driving.
For $369. you get the complete truck, a 2.4GHz radio with a lot more features than their old radios, a cheap NIMH 7-cell battery, etc.
Traxxas still has to figure out how to make brushless ESCs. If you get stuck in the dirt and try to dig your way out, or you do anything that requires creeping along, it cogs like crazy. I got the Mike Jenkins version. I have no idea who Mike Jenkins is, hopefully he's not related to Leroy. There's also a blue-and-yellow version. The tires are an improvement over the old slash's tires and so far everything on this truck seems to be working as intended.

Cool mang, glad you like it!
Might want to invest in the Mamba ESC like we talked about in the other thread.
Good luck and have fun! For a 130 smacks more I could have gotten the 4x4.....
Should have dug more into the savings........without the wife finding out, lol!

I would try the MM ESC with your Velineon motor first as many people have had good luck with that combo. Seems it is more the ESC like you said.
Just trying to save you a bill. Read up on that combo. I am just going on what people have mentioned as I have not been in this hobby long.
Also might want to try a better battery as that might help too...would look into some lipo's. Not sure if that will help with the cogging issue or not, but should give you even more power.

The thing is I already have the MM Pro ESC and a novak 17.5 motor. That way I can use the sensored support and 6s LiPos. Can't do that wit the VXL motor.

Looks like an awesome truck. 4WD makes bashers much, much better, IMO.
Can't wait for the Bandit 4WD, and Stampede 4WD.
Traxxas seems to have definitely put some thought into making the roof more rounded or something. It was amazing how few times you wound up on the roof.

Nice videos Access. That's an awesome looking bash spot too.

This spot actually has a bit of a history, once it was a usable RC track with races and everything. Then club that ran it became so heavily factionised that they spent all day arguing instead of racing. Eventually one of the factions sabotaged and ruined the track, the club pretty much dissolved shortly after. Years passed, at some point some neighborhood kids with BMX bikes fixed it up for their purposes and used it. They appear to have moved on too, I don't see bike tracks here much anymore, today it's mostly just a mini bashing spot. In the area I live we have this brush that, given enough years, starts to cover everything, and that is what you see over a lot of this spot.
I had tried this same spot with the original 2wd slash and it couldn't really hook up or do much. This truck is much more controllable on the loose dirt and I should be able to get it to do a lot of what the mini E-Revo could do.

Tower hobbies has the platinum one I believe, just without the 2.4ghtz radio though. Not sure why they did that.....389.00 was the price.

Two more videos, this time with a moving camera.
This thing is really durable, I've abused it a great deal as you can see in the vids above. No significant damage / breakage. One of the body posts came out, but I just screwed it back in.

Nice vids again! Is your the 1/10 scale one or 1/16 one? Looks small to me for some reason. No matter as it handles really well. My 2wd would have flipped a crap ton more compared to yours. Very cool!

He wasnt even driving it very fast to get it to flip over.
Fun to drive, but man I couldnt stand being upside down like that.
People will be breaking bodys faster than you can blink an eye.
I still believe people will be sticking with the 2wd Slash for racing.

As for the flipping over when the camera is moving I am driving with one hand on the controller. This means throttling with my pinky finger and steering with my thumb. It doesn't really make for the best driving, a lot of the time I was holding full throttle when I should've been pulling back a bit. With precise steering and a little bit of throttle control the flipping isn't really a problem. On terrain like this the 4wd is a whole lot more controllable than the 2wd. I'd tried to make a 2wd video in this same area but it just wasn't doing its thing.
