Default Best tutorial for converting computer power supply.

Way too many tutorials on the internet regarding the matter. I dont' know which is the proper way.

My friend did one for me last time, all he did was cut some wires and connect some wires together. Some tutorials say you need resistor/capacitor etc stuff like.

I'm confused!

should just be the a yellow and black wire, yellow is +12 black is ground. you might have to connect multiple yellow wires together though in parallel though to be able to supply the proper current, cause one wire alone supplying 5A's might melt.
