Here are the wheels i am going to use, rims from Trx Nitrosport and HPI Geolander tires. I did not know i ordered the wrong rims for the front as these are designed to have bearings in the rims instead of in the steeringblocks, but i fixed this by machine some bushings in my lathe. I am also nearly finished with the front and rear lights, going to solder the last bits tonight.

Thanks. Yeah, it is always something! The next thing i am planning is to build some kind of cage around the engine, something like this:

I have ordered the rear bumper from [link=http://www.rpmrcproducts.com/products/traxxas/SandR2.htm#mount]RPM (in black, not blue)[/link] which seems to be better and more rigid than the stock one. Going to build the cage out from this one.

I decided to make some new extension plates, i found them too beefy to use on the car as they are 5 mm thick (0.2 in.). So i went for 2.5 mm (0.1 in.) instead. The car is very heavy at the rear now, very saggy, so i think this will make it better.

Thank you, nice to hear. The blue came out much better than i expected, was worrying it would end up too light, but it is perfect in my opinion[8D]

I am now on the front, thinking of making a bumper there of some sort. I will give it the weekend to think about it

Well, it has been a week now, started yesterday with the making of the front bumper. It will end up something like this:

Going to make the triangular "thing" a bit lower as this one is a bit too high in my opinion.

So, here is the frontbumper! It came out pretty much as i wanted[8D] I also made some "straps" for the bodyclips, now they don't have the chanse to dissappear.

A little update now, i have made a window net for my Baja. I was very bored one day so i went to the fabric store and bought some 3 mm satin band. I cut them in pieces of 110 mm and 60 mm glued them to eachother with 5 mm size masks. I have two bands left to show you, hehe!

I am also waiting for a new chrome bumper from RPM now, i think the one i have made myself is a bit too tough as it will brake the chassi in a large impact. But i like it very much though...

So, here it is, the RPM chrome bumper. All the RPM dealers here in Norway had sold out the 2wd-version, so i bought one for the 4wd Slash. I guess these are the same as the holes lines up, but with an extra part to mount it. Maybe this part can be used to make a new bumper mount[8D] I was reluctant to remove the bumper i have made myself as i like this very much, but as earlier said; there is no flex in it -or to put it another way, the chassi- to survive a large impact. Moved it "one hole" down to get it a bit closer to the body.

Finally the parts from Amainhobbies arrived. But i am not impressed with the STRC parts! The castor blocks are very sloppy, when i wiggle them back and forth i guess the castor angle is altered by 2 or 3 degrees. Also the top holes where the kingpin that goes through the steering blocks are to wide, maybe 1 to 2/10 of an millimeter. But the bellcrank system is very nice and precise, i just hope the rear bearing carriers are too!

I will try to change the hinge pins to new stock ones to see if they give less slop, i tried to put one pin into the rear bearing block and it was very tight and with no slop. I also ordered some new stock ones, i will try to put these in front to see if it get better. But as i have barely used the car i can't imagine that they are that worn out.

Changed the hingepins to new ones but to no avail! Here is a little video i made which illustrates the slop.

Sorry, no sound, but i heard a click click click-sound when i was wiggling it

Oh, here are some pics again. Today i have mounted the RPM shock tower, STRC shock caps and rear bearing carriers(which by the way was a very nice and tight fit)

That sucks about the caster blocks Sorry about that, Lars. Almost looks like they were machined for an Associated 1/8" hingepin rather than the 3mm hingepin of Traxxas'.

That's a great looking car though
