Does anyone know if a Xerun 80a esc will work with a Hobbywing 2300kv motor?

Also what size of Lipo and/or LiFe battery would I look for - Runtime more important than speed.

I've got a ravager roller on the way that I want to convert to brushless. RCmonster sells a conversion kit that will work, but it's $50 and includes a servo tray that I can't use. I'm wondering if the LX-1e motor mount (which I can get for about $25) could be used instead. Could someone please give me the exact distance between the motor mount holes on an LX-1e?

It looks to be about 25mm. Does that sound right to you?

genitor has posted pics to a motor mount he made himself here. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=9782073

Yeah I used 1/8" aluminum angle to make that mount. It bolts onto the center diff mount with 3 screws (I utilized the 2 existing screw holes in the diff mount that was used to mount the brakes and drilled one additional hole) and it bolts onto the chassis with two bolts.

Standard 540 motors have 25mm between mount holes as dialed_in posted.
Is that the dimension you wanted or the distance between the holes where the motor mount bolts to the chassis?

Sorry, should have been more specific. I'm looking for the distance between the holes where the motor mounts to the chassis. I'm trying to figure out if I can simply bolt up a LX1e motor mount to a ravager chassis, or if I will have to get the more expensive conversion kit.

The 2 close holes are 14mm center to center. 35mm between the center and furthest holes (center to center). The 2 outside hole are 49mm center to center. There are a total of 3 holes. I hope that makes sense.

Three holes? It looks like only two:

EDIT: What a dummy - that's the top of the mount, not the bottom. I just realized that all the pics on the web are taken from that angle, so I didn't notice the 3rd hole. It looks like I'll have to drill at least one hole, but that's not so bad. I won't know for sure until the ravager actually gets here. I guess I'll just order the mount and hope for the best.

Thanks for the measurements. I appreciate the help.

My short course conversion:

Next to Blitz

front mount, trimmed two holes

rear mount

I finally made some progress, still need to get some bumpers made up.
Losi Strike body, Proline 1/10th scale tires, SC8 wheels, Traxxas body posts (2 x 1914x).

Just an update of what else i did to my lx-one to lx1e conversion.

The rear arm mount broke so i made one from 1/4" aluminum and the front shock tower kept bending so i made a beefier one from 3/16" aluminum.

And for those that dont/cant make their own rear arm holder, there's this.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ear-Arm-Holder

As for the shock towers, I got Ofna's PCR hardened ones thru Ebay.

Good job nonetheless genitor.

Ok finally broke the left lower control arm after bashing at the BMX park yesterday......wondering about other choices than the stock ones?

Will LX1's ones work even tho they have a different part #?

What about the Integy aluminum ones? I'm kind of skeptical of these, moreso of other parts breaking.

And I need the pin as well (bent) Not too much out there, Ebay only has 2 listings for the arms, nothing for the pins.

Don't know if the lx1's will fit but aluminum A-arms is usually a bad idea. You need some flex in the arms to absorb impacts.

Looking for some cheap basher tires for on-road use.

Could you post up some close up shots of how you attached the bumpers? Having a hell of a time with mine. Also, which bumpers did you use? The front looks like a slash?...

Looks good, You run it yet ?

Did the tires mount up easily or require trimming ?

@mc4798, no trimming, lots of glue though.

@morespeed, thanks!
