I purchased this at a tag sale and I can find no identification on it. I'm guessing that the second servo is for the throttle and therefore it's older since it doesn't have an ESC, but I really don't know.

If it's useful, the servos are:

Steering: Futaba FP-R2H

Throttle?: Futaba FP-832H

The white thing on the top of the buggy under the metal shield appears to be a set of resistors, which I'm assuming is used to dump power when it is throttled down, but this is all speculation on my part.

It came with a Futaba Magnum Junior controller (FP-T2PKA).

So any ideas what it is? Thanks in advance!

That started life as a Tamiya Thunder Dragon or Thunder Shot. There where 4 cars that used that sam chassis but only two of them had the single lay down front shock.

Based on the pictures atwww.tamiyaclub.com/chassis.aspit appears that it's probably a Thunderdragon, since the the Thunderdragon seems to have the resistor thing on the top like mine. Although after thinking about it, I take back my previous supposition that it is perhaps used to dump power unused by the throttle servo. Anyone have any ideas what it's for?

In a mechanical rc speed controller a resistor burns off voltage as heat to control the amount of throttle you desire. So, if you want 1/2 throttle your mechanical rc speed controller burns off half the volts to accomplish this.

Not a very efficient way to control the throttle, while losing a lot of your stored energy in your batteries.

wow i havent seen a mech speed control in a long time! lol brushed escs are so cheap now, probably cheaper than the servo it takes to run the mech one!

I too have a rc car I have searched for days on can't find anything about it.
It has fatuba electronics and a belt drive system sitting on a gold chassis. Does anyone know this truck????
