e-revo Titan 550 vs Stampede Titan 550
Are these motors the same? I ask because I am thinking about upgrading my e-revo to a single Titan 775. This would leave me a Titan 550 that I could put in my Stampede. Could I also use the reverse motor if I cross the leads?

The 550 motors used in the larger trucks like the Revo are I believe 23 turns, the Pede/Rusty ones are 12 turns, so you'd have a slower revving motor from the Revo. However, it might last longer since I haven't heard too many complaints about the 23t version. You would need a larger pinion to get decent speeds out of the Revo 550 motor since it's slower and designed to run on 14 volts, compared to 7.2v that you may be running in a Pede.
Also, you don't need to reverse connect any of the two motors... both stock motors in a Revo/Emaxx dual motor setup run the same direction together because of how they're setup onto the main Spur gear. Not sure if that was your question.

It will work like he said, but it will be pretty slow. I tried it with an E-Savage motor in my stampede, which is a 14.4v motor, and it was pretty slow on 7.2v.

Thanks guys. I ordered my stuff tonight for my 775 conversion so I will give the motor a try. It is for my kids so I am more concerned with Longevity then all out speed.
