RE: a little confused
Depends on what you're talking about. For a slash 2WD, they offset in the rims is different. Meaning that they stick out more on one side than the other.
Basically, there isn't a difference, you just have to watch out for different offsets. I had to ask the same question when I started out too, so don't let the mocking crew discourage you from asking questions.

RE: a little confused
it all depends on the truck, time and looking at how things are setup on cars will really let you know what works with what, because some 12mm rims are the same all around or can be bolted up to the wrong end but they'll be the wrong offset , and some rims will not even come close to mounting up, there are 12mm rims, these work with most trucks except AE, duratrax, losi and kyosho, the first 3 use a bearing in front wheel and a pin drive in rear, kyosho i'm not sure what style they use

RE: a little confused
On a buggy the front wheels are typically narrower than the rears, and for 2wd the front wheels often have a different pattern than the rear (a straight pattern designed for smooth steering since they don't need rotational traction). For 4wd there is no difference, but some people like to periodically swap the front and rear wheels every few runs to equalize tire wear.

RE: a little confused
this is more important on buggies and in tc. in buggies the rear tires and rims are wider than in the front. in two wheel drive trucks and buggies the tread is different. this makes them handle better. in tc traction is key. so pay special atenton to the way your tread is facing or you will wear out your tires prematurely.
