I need to know what a good motor would be for a stadium truck. my definition of good is having good acceleration, really good top speed, and is reliable and sturdy. if you know of any motors that fall into this criteria let me know
thanks

I have the Novak Brushless SS in my losi xxx-t. These are real MPH figures from a GPS.
From a stock speed with a 19t motor of 20mph tooo
32.46mph with a 18t/86t setup on 6 cells
34.96mph with a 18t/86t setup on 7 cells AND
39.81mph with a 24t/86t setup on 7 cells..
These aren't estimates these are actual speed recorded on my GPS that rode along for the speed runs...

Hey Skate

I have Lehners in my boats. I put in in my off-roads a couple times just for fun and they were almost too powerful.

I recently got a Novak SS for my Losi XXX-4 and it is a rocket. Much more controllable and very fast. And it will be quite a bit cheaper than a Lehner setup.

It was a Lehner Basic 5300 using an LMT 1895 controller. I installed it in an HPI RS4 MT. In the dirt it would basically spin the tires for as long as I held the trigger down. It was a little easier to drive on the street because there wasn't as much tire spin.

I'm sure it was an easy 35 MPH. It would be easy to go 50 with that setup with a gearing change and a couple more cells thrown in. I have a friend with a T-Maxx who always made fun of my "little" electric truck. Since I put a brushless in it he doesn't invite me to go RC'ing any more .

Is there anything I have to do to my car to get it prepared for a brushless system such as new gears , cvd , new connectors, certain kind of battery, etc.?

Not really. I would recommend having spare spur gears and slipper clutches if you car/truck has them. I chewed up a spur gear when I didn't check to make sure the pinion was seated correctly, and I also burned out a slipper clutch.

You may (I said may) need a separate receiver battery. Some of the earlier LMT controllers had terrible cogging problems with the higher kv/rpm motors like the 5300. They have reported that problem being fixed with the new controllers.
