yea but it wont take 500 amps. a really good qaulity esc will have a burst around twice its constant for 5-10 seconds

unless its running mosfets that are already capable of 50% more than the escs rated current, in which case, they'd most likely rate the esc for 50% more
at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter!
500amp "burst" claimed from a 100amp esc means nothing.
its like when they rate those crappy PC speakers as 2000watts pmpo, the number means nothing whatsoever!

RE: Buying XERUN 80A ESC for Blitz
Hi to all the fellas with the Hobbyking 100A ESC. I'm looking at getting one of these for my HPI Efirestorm. I currently have the EZrun 5.5T 6000KV motor with 60A ESC and 2S lipo. The thing flies but the ESC and motor are heating up. I have smaller pinion on order to address the hot motor.
Am I right in saying that the HK 100A ESC would better suit this set up?
Thanks.

I also own a Hobbyking 100A esc and an 80A version of that esc sold by another brand. I don't think that you would run into much issue running the 100A esc with the ez run 6000Kv motor. I run the 80A version on a 3000Kv L sized motor and the 100A on a 2800Kv XL sized motor (both on 2s at the moment). They both stay cool temp wise.
