Unless you're looking to compete, nearly anything will work. I would stick with stock tires, since they are often made of a more durable and longer lasting compound.

Pro-Line Trenchers would be a good bet for some basher SC tires. They've got gobs of tread.

yeah but they dont get much grip, the traxxas slayer handles well okay, i think maybe a better tread will make not slip and slide so much

I just put a set of BF Goodrich on my slash, I have the 2wd version though. So far I am extremely happy with them, hook up well in grass and dirt, but they are a bit hard to really work well on pavement. As a pure basher I can say these are worth the money....IMHO.

I run the proline trenchers on splitsix beadlocks-tons more grip then stock tires-perfect bash tire to. just take it easy gunning it on pavement b/c they will wear out twice as fast. youtube "guys2nv" and look for the slash 4x4+lots-o-rocks=broken parts video. im running the trenchers on my 4 wheel parts bodied slash 4x4.

On my slayer I used SC8 tires/rims and new wheel hex/hubs. They are actually cheap to buy.
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVVZ2&P=7

they are bigger than slayer wheels/tires. I love them, great grip, and great tread life. Not to mention good price.

here they are on my slayer

these both worked well but i switched to 17mm buggy wheels and tires and no longer use these.
these are epic beadlocs with switch tires and stock slash 4x4 wheels and tires.
