i think da lack of rollovers haf 2 do wit da f & r & c diff.

b4 my next run, ill do 30,000 inda centr, & tightn servo saver. c if i can roll it then.

no standin backflips heer, but muuuuuuuuuch better handling & cornering then da decieving, dissapointing savage flux hp.

will try it on pavement, b4 i add diff fluid.

& lastly, i dontthink i like the cougar ps3i.
steerin wheel dont like 2 center. i evn tightnd up the micro screw undr da wheel, but still iffy.[&o]

Another website that I visit gave the MT4-G3 big thumbs up. Said they bashed it hard and nothing broke. The box stock set looks like it can fly better than most monster trucks. How does the chassis look, and is it hard to find lipo batteries that fit the sandwich type chassis?

2 gens ase 7.4 5000s ( wich r pretty much standerd size) sit side by side wit a few mm all around. a littl sloppy so da cases get prety beat up. ima do sum micro thin foam tape soon.

anothr pak thru 2day. put d/r at 125%. evn on pavement, stil will not roll.
top speed on 2s seems low 2 mid 40s. u can go full blast, slam onda brake & lock da steerin 2 full deflection. on pavement, it will jus slide sideways 4 about 15ft & skid 2 a stop. unbelievable.

evry1 sez it can wheely on command, but i cant get it 2 wheely. i think punch control is set 2 deter wheelys. ethr dat or dey stopd usin diff fluid sumwhere in production?
da ace 150 esc is basically a hobbywing xerun version of da mamba monster.
hobbywing program card works for da 1st 5 actions.
dis particular motor & esc r rated for 6s max!!! but its geard fer 4s max. plus fittn a 6s wood proov dificult.

on a 100* day, 1 run, start 2 finish, usin stock gearing, my temps r as follows.

motor. 160

esc. mid 140s

batts. mid 120s.

not alot of wiggleroom in gearing.

heers anothr thought im kicking around.

wen lvc shuts da esc down, my 2s batts read 6.8v, & 7.2. if 2 batts put out diffrent voltage at dscharge, it cood cause varying performance rite? not true 4s 14.8v.

i also wonder if the extra wires & plugs 2 turn dual 2s in2 a 4s creat mor resistanse. ill hav 2 get sum true 4s packs n see if it changes anything.

if not, ill try an outerwares fan type setup. or a motor & battery fan

Hey,
I am new here and have read the entire thread, nice to know that there are many who love their TTR RC's so much.

@Airmayle: The paint job looks super cool. Do you thing painting the clear parts of the body black will make it look better?

@MC : What have you dont to the reciever antenna tube? Bent it to keep it inside the body? Mine keeps poping out after a bad landing.

I have a Sparrowhawk XXT. Its been with me for about a month now. I bought it off a friend. The car is all stock and i run it on 2400mah Nimh's. Recently received a 5000mah 30C Trunigy lipo - waiting to get deans to swap connectors. The shocks leak a lot so i will be changing to traxxas ultra's. Down the line i plan to get proline gladiators all around and a plastic rear wing (i hate the lexan wing - its all bendy and deformed).

xerxes Thanks for the pic. That thing looks like a beast. I need to see more pics of it in action.

I just picked up a used Stampede 4x4 cause the price was right. So far disappointed in it, should have went with my 1st choose Thunder Tigers EB-4 G3.

I really just wanted to keep the pede 4x4 in stock form and run a 2s 25c lipo. After two test runs, not even running the full pack the drive shafts started to show twisting and the metal piece that connects the drive cup and the drive shafts are starting to oval the plastic out causing slop. The hex hub that the wheels mount to, started to round out but I do believe that was from the previous owner. This was a used RC but in great shape, had a little rust on some screws but over all really in great condition.

I basically toke the hole thing apart cleaned and looked for worn parts. I cleared out all the setting in the electronics back to factor setting, Rebuild the front and rear diff add 10,000wt diff oil to both the front and back. Cleaned all hinge pins, made sure we had no binding and even toke the drive shafts apart to clean and made sure they were smooth. I set the slipper loose cause the previous own had it way to tight. I also rebuild the shocks added 45wt shock oil cause I had no clue what was in it to begin with. Only thing I have to do to the shocks is order some Losi springs to fine tune the shocks to where I like them.

I know that the two needed upgrades are the King Headz motor mount with larger bearing, and MIP drive shafts. I thou that was only needed if you wanted to run crazy power. I never tried it with the stock Nimh but never plan on running it with that.

I'm still testing have some new drive shaft coming soon.

That sucks!

My pede and my MT4 are my current favorite trucks!

Was the truck run on 3s previously?

my truck has never run on more than 2s, and i have my slipper TIGHT....

As for the MT4, you can significantly improve handling by tightening the servo saver...

In stock configuration, the truck feels like it is "pushing," but really its just the servo saver slipping...

With it tightened, i was getting mild oversteer on asphalt full speed!

The low CG prevents the truck from rolling (most of the time)!

It was run on lipo for sure but I don't know if it was run on 3s. The condition of it was in to good of a shape to be run on 3s in my opinion. I haven't given up on it yet or feel its a turd yet. I just didn't want to spend a lot on upgrades just to get it to be an ok basher.

This is my first MT so I might be expecting to much. I bash my Thunder Tiger buggy hard and its held up to just about anything except 35mph head on to curbs. As for the MT4 I would love to see some youtube videos of it in action.

The guys that are running the MT4 what do you think of the stock shocks?

i bin runnin my xl5 2wd stampde on a 2s sidewindr sct 3800 setup fer 2 months now wit a lockd slippr.
besides loosenin weelnuts, my 1st major problm was a destroyd topshaft bearing wich shreddid my spur due 2 unmeshing. also ruind my topgear inside da trans. aftr i fixd it, i kept popping u joints off da plastic driveshafts.
switchd 2 da 4x4 HD plastic driveshafts. so far so good

but ya. tight slippers r risky bizniss

Is the mt4 g3 worth the $120 more than the eb4 g3? I know it has a 150amp esc.

And xerxes, what do you mean by the eb4 had its highs and lows? can u list some of the problems.
thanks

One is a buggy the other a truggy/monster truck. So it depends on what you are going to do with it. The extra money is because of the wheels and the esc. If you are into bashing and jumping go with the mt4. Youd have to check with your local track to see if it could run in the truggy class.
