Traxxas Slash tranny issue
 

Tried searching the forum, but kept getting a server not available page...not sure whats up there.

I need a new differential for my 2wd Slash. Can't seem to find one, other than if I buy a whole tranny on Ebay. Anyone know of a place that sells a new center diff?

best advice I can give is always check your manual, get the part number of what's broken, and type it into (any online hobby shop/ebay).
For example, the diff in a 2wd slash (don't need to say center, there is only one diff) is 2388X, typing this into towerhobbies yields this:

Of course you can save money by figuring out what is exactly wrong with it.

2 years and I've never had a problem with the diff, even in snow. I sheared off a Castle motor shaft before I damaged the diff. :)

You can buy the whole diff from any online retailer or your LHS.

Just put new planet gears in it, #2382, i never strip the outside of my diff even on 4s

that might do the trick. the outside gear is not stripped, the noise is coming from inside

UPDATE

I put the new internals in the diff. the old planetary gears were completely stripped. yuck. what a mess.

Got it cleaned out, put it all back together, and put it back in the truck...all better now, thanks guys!
