Traxxas Heat sink for VXL Motor

Did some research and the cheapest most effective heat sink Ive found that works on a stock VXL is the Traxxas Motor heat sink blast. Might try it. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...LXJD94&P=K . 3.89 seems a good deal. Here a lot of good things about this one. Anyone have it on a stock VXLmotor and did you use some thermal compound on it?

Which car because if its not a car with the motor in the middle some mods will take place. You might not have enough space for the sink. Did you try gearing changes?

Sorry Rustler VXL. My temps are good. runnning 16/83 or 19/83. Iwas more curious than anything else. Some people are claiming a 30 degree temperature drop after installing the heat sink.

If your temps are good dont bother, but if they were bad, it would be worth losing the bit of durability in the motor guard.<div>Next time, you might as well post in the rustler thread because you would get faster answers.</div><div>http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_1966715/tm.htm</div><div>

30 degree drop with that heatsink...not a chance. More like 10 degrees tops. If you want a 30 degree drop in temps you'll either need an aluminum trans case or a good fan. I've tried both and they are comparable in terms of cooling capacity. My advice is to get the trans case if you feel the need...a fan is just one more thing that can potentially fail. But if your temps are good under the worst case scenario, I wouldn't even bother.

I'd go with something with bigger fins like the integy one (i know i know integy-lol). Integy heatsinks are fine b/c there only purpose is to dissipate heat and don't hold the truck together.

well there are a few decent integy parts (you can count them on one hand though after a band saw incident)
can't screw much up in a heat sink :D
It actually don't look too bad
