cheap E-firestorm power system
i got a e-firestorm roller off ebay for 42bucks shipped with a few upgrades and a nice sized bag of parts. but no tires body or electronics so my plans for this is to be a "loaner car" for anyone who wants to drive one without me having to worry if they crash one of my nice cars:p. im not looking at anything crazy maybe 20mph tops yet i like to be able to tone it down for young kids to drive. id be using lipo of course im just lost on what would be best a cheap brush or brushless system for a super cheap build. id like to spend no more then 55bucks for a esc/motor/servo

Wow, now that is a cheap servo! Less than $5!

does the hobbywing 35a esc have power settings?

EXT2Rob 02-28-2014 03:54 PM

Yes, I believe it does. Power / Punch. same same. Also has a certain amount of timing adjust. Not that I really noticed any difference. But the punch setting works. It's great that you get the programming card with it.

(I don't know that I'd get that cheap servo...)

you can often find a losi 12t or traxxas xl5 ESC on ebay for $20-$30.
heck I have a Tamiya TEU-105bk that's NIP, been sitting in my desk for months, you can have it for $10. I may even have a used brushed motor that's still good.

well i went with the 35amp esc and a tacon 3000kv motor

Just make sure that you note that that servo is from the international warehouse so it will take a good month to get to anywhere in the US. Just so you know.
