So my VXL-3s ESC just fried, what should I get?

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a new ESC and possibly motor for my Stampede 4x4. I don't really know what's right, and I would really love to keep it on somewhat of a budget (relative to the cost of RC motors/esc's), I stumbled upon a new Castle product that was released this year that looks appealing to me, it's called the Sidewinder 8th...

EDIT: Should have noted, you can snag these on eBay shipped for about 155$

Would this work well? I usually run 2s, sometimes 3s lipos, and I don't really want to go back to the stock ESC/Motor

Thanks for any help and opinions!

the castle 3800kv combos are good

The Hobbywing combos are great... Just as good as castle and 2/3 of the price

depends on the combo and if he wants to keep it water proof castle and hobbywings WP combos are just about the same price

That Sidewinder 8th is an awesome little combo. I'd highly recommend it. Just note that you may have to dremel on your chassis a tad to make it fit.
