Traxxas Radio Issues?
My traxxas stampede with the older model TQ receiver and transmitter has been acting really weird lately, sometimes I won't give it any throttle, and it will just start going full speed in a random direction, and I can't stop it. And other times it won't respond to the transmitter at all. A few months back, my antenna wire broke, so I soldered it back together, and my transmitters antenna isn't fully connected at one of the links, but other than that, it's fine.
Should I just buy a whole new radio system? Or just replace the antennas? Or the crystals? I really just can't drive it when it's acting like this. Also, range isn't very far either, only 150-200ft, and there's lots of stuttering. |
get this http://www.hobbypartz.com/79p-gt2-blue.html I have a few of their radios(I even have that model), and honestly they work great.
Remember seeing a video where someone wanted to find the range, and he gave up somewhere around half a mile lol. From experience I can say the range is farther then you can even see the RC as I've driven RC's over the horizon (I live where it is VERY flat) Review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBcJimub-74 The AM TQI's I've had I found to be pretty crappy I owned 2 both failed, and my nephew who has a pede's failed too. Your issue is probably crystal related, some strong interference, or even the controller failing (mine was due to the controller failing). This is the reason I just recommend that radio I linked as you will not have any crystals to fiddle with(and hell crystals could cost more then that radio), once bound the radio stays paired. http://www.hobbypartz.com/79p-gt3b-carradio-lcd.html is another good radio(own one), but honestly all it has over the 1st one is an load of options you would never really need on a Stampede. If you owned multiple RC's (like I own 20+) then yes it pays to get as it can be setup to control 10 different RC's, and stores settings for each one so you don't have to fiddle with knobs. |
