fastest brushless motor

im looking for the fastest 540 or 550 brushless motor any ideas is it just the dynamite 9200kv or is there faster?

RE: fastest brushless motor

The 9200 is for 1/18. Do you know how many cells or any?

RE: fastest brushless motor

3.5r Novak or 5700 Mamba on 3s li-po are probably the fastest 540 sized brushless with a practical number of cells and not something ridiculous like 16-20 cells.

mambas are really fast i have one for sale in the classifieds http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemID=360548 its a 7700 kv and it can run on lipos its as fast as youlll want to go cuz when ur going that fast a small mistake can turn into a huge mistake if ur interested just post it on the ad

Fastest would have been Nic Case's Neu, I think it was a Neu 1509 or a Neu 1110, unless something has beaten Nic's record.

ok well except that way too expensive i also need an esc

RE: fastest brushless motor

in an emaxx your best bet is going to be an 8xl if you want reliability, or if you just want all out speed you can go with an 7xl.

He was using a castle creations phoenix-HV 85 on that car I think.

so would the tekin ones be any good?

and is there any way to water proof a brushless esc or any that are waterproof?

im thinking this Novak Electronics HV High-Voltage Brushless 4.5 ESC with Team Orion Vortex Brushless Motor 4.5 would this work?

why would you try and put a touring car motor in an emaxx?

i honestly didnt know that it mattered? so should i go for the whole hv4.5 system and would there be any way to make a "vtwin" with it?

how bout this 1 4.5 DUO 550 MONSTER TRUCK MOTOR TRAXXAS E-MAXX

dirt101 01-21-2008 07:17 PM

RE: fastest brushless motor

im telling you a feigao is much better suited for the emaxx. 550 is barely big enough for a rustler, emaxx needs an XL can to run without overheating.

DriftingDragon 01-21-2008 07:33 PM

RE: fastest brushless motor

but which 1 should i use iwant the whole thing to cost 250 max

dirt101 01-21-2008 07:38 PM

RE: fastest brushless motor

I personally would either go with an 8xl or 9xl to be safe.

Do you know what esc your going to use?
Batteries? what kind of batteries your using makes a huge difference on which motor you should choose

Novak Electronics HV High-Voltage Brushless 4.5 ESC

RE: fastest brushless motor

You can run Novak Velocity motors at 80k rpms because of the strong sintered rotors. If you run a 5.5r on 3s it will give you 82140rpms. That rpm limit is unloaded so as long as your pinion stay securely on the shaft and that your motor doesnt move away from the spur I think you'll have one helluva fast motor.

RE: fastest brushless motor

for now it would just be running on 2 7 cell 8.4v

Do you already own that esc or did you just pick it out? if your looking for an esc the Mamba max is a better choice, but you will have to run a BEC, or a receiver pack with it.

DriftingDragon 01-21-2008 08:03 PM

RE: fastest brushless motor

i picked it cause i can run 2 8.4vs on it

you can get an adapter to run 2 packs in series on the mamba max for about $11

it's a good esc for a monster truck

c'mon!!!!!

You need TORQUE, not speed! THAT is what will make your e-maxx fast. How about using this:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_25...tm.htm#2587132
and seeing what size pinion you'll need to use the 3.5r (i bet they don't make one)
