ORIGINAL: []TEX[] It's more scale performance, scale like suspension and detailed body. IFS and rear straight axel. It's more of a trail rig, but yes it will tackle mounds of dirt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eHVVws-l7Q |

ORIGINAL: Longhair ORIGINAL: Shompola lacquor or whatever the name is, is "hotter" than acrylic in general. And I believe the TS sprays are lacquor based. Have you sprayed clear coat over acrylic paint before? Maybe it will work if I apply very thin coats of clear coat? By the way, how long can I wait between each coat of gun metal paint? The number of coats I mentioned were just guesses based on my experience with polycarbonate sprays. I have never sprayed ABS bodies. Shoot the colors you want with the Tamiya synthetic laquer. When you have to coats and color depth you want go ahead and do the details with the acrylic. You can shoot clear laquer over it HOWEVER the laquer WILL somewhat desolve the acrylic while it cures. The trick is to lay you acrylic details on relatively thick, let them fully dry, and then do your celar coats in very thin coats. Laquer desloves in it's own solvent which is why I love it and it sticks to itself so well. It also polishes up really nice... |

What's the best way to polish after painting?
|
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
ORIGINAL: Longhair What's the best way to polish after painting? Wet sanding with a VERY fine sandpaper. Attach it to some kind of block, like those big square erasers. This way the sanding surface in completely flat, and you knock down the microscopic high spots. After that, use rubbing compound like you'd get at an auto parts store. Then you can go nuts and get Tamiya's model wax. Another thing people use is an acrylic floor polish call future polish, just brush it on with a larger brush, it toally levels itself out. I'm going to do this once I get my decal set. The picture above is just after polishing with rubbing compound. |

RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
Those pictures are incredible!
by the way, using the clear coat tamiya spray on decals is a no no or? I think it would look pretty sweet if it works. |
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
its 1/10 right
|
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
this looks nice :D
does the blastic 'bull bar' need to be added? IMO it looks better without it, unless with a nice scale metal one (with winch :) http://image2-2.rcuniverse.com/e1/fo...90/Db85092.jpg) |
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
You can clear coat the decals... I did that with my Aeromax... ORIGINAL: Shompola Those pictures are incredible! by the way, using the clear coat tamiya spray on decals is a no no or? I think it would look pretty sweet if it works. |
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
I read somewhere that clear nail polish works - I wonder about that though.
But that was on a lexan body... |

Pajero is now on order at Tower.
|
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build

|
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
I was thinking about making one of these soon.
|
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
A lot of us are getting it! (I have one pre-ordered.. so whenever Tower gets it, I will get it!)
So join in on the fun!! :D |
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
Tower has no clue when they'll get it, obviously......
|
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
early may is the date...LOL...anyway, because of the limitede re-release...this will be for sure in stock on tower...even if other sites are already selling them...
|
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
I splurged and ordered one today! The reaction of my bank account [:@]:( the reaction of my R/C side :D:)
It's getting painted pactra rally green and the tamiya black for the fender flares and trim areas. I'm going to make the lights into functional ones, probably start off with a P2K2 motor and then dropping in a 45T lathe when I get one. I am also getting a set of F350 tires on HPI stock car rims for my TLT rubicon which I may choose to run on the pajero since I like the pajero wheels for the rubicon since they look like stock jeep wheels. I ordered it from tower so it'll be coming whenever they end up shipping it. I didn't get bearings since ordering them individually would cost near $40. Anyone know of a decently priced bearing kit for the kit? I also might steal the roof rack off my rubicon and put it on the pajero, with it's 4 off road style lights on top as well [>:] I am so excited!!!!!!! |
RE: Tamiya Pajero-Collective Build
Ebay for bearings. The front light and fog lights are functional already. Making the back lights would take a bit of doing.
