well im a noob i have a traxxas jato3.3 wanted to buy a electric truck to race at the local track its rite down the block it seems the the short course trucks are very popular there now but i wanted to kick it old shcool with a 2wd stadium truck it seems every one who has a stadium truck there has a rc10 or losi the guy at the hobby store steared me in that direction and told me this truck is better plus i wanted to be a little different then the rest[>:]also there is parts support for it there so it should be good how do you guys feel about that truck and whats a good brushless set up for it?

If there is parts support, it is one of the best, if not the best stadium truck available today.

You got an awesome truck, like Chris RC said - parts support matters though. I've owned lots of Kyosho vehicles over the years and have loved all of them, their out of the box quality is great.

I just bought a xxxtcr and the rt5 as still reallly new when i got my car. Now that times passed i would take the r5t over any car. If theres parts support thats even better. As far as the brushless it depends on how much you wanna spend. you can get the tekin or the novak havoc. The havoc can be gotten for 150 while the tekin is 259 and than the 20 dollar usb adapter. Tekin seems to be the top quality esc and motor. There are lots of adjustments and from what ive heard they are very reliable. Good luck!

I bought the ultima rt5 too because it seems to have a better review than the associated t4 but the guys at my local track are saying its no match compared to the t4 ahah I cant wait to teach them a lesson!!!

Great truck. Very well behaved on the track. I am still running the box set-up and I love it. It is better than my MF2. The Tekin RS pro seems to be the go to ESC for mod. I am a budget racer and I use the Havok/13.5 combo. No complaints on it. GRB is fine of coarse. You will want a sensored system for racing. There are more and more motor choices every day. You might check out the electronic forum for more info on motors and esc's.

Good luck and enjoy!

Here is mine freshly painted before I started racing it. Just a simple paint job, but very easy to see on the track.

Hi folks, http://www.fusionhobbies.com/Ansmann...r122000010.htm ,its good, very good!!,very , very, very, very, very similar to kyosho, so much so you can fit kyosho parts without any modding, thought it might be useful for spares backup for you kyosho drivers, i run the Xpro buggy which is in effect a re-badged RB5 ,you could spend £50 on an Ansmann macnum and use it as spares/donor car, should save you a fortune. also available as team c, http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-tea...-28921.html,:D

Where I will be racing I noticed pretty much everyone is running the RC10T4 and they all have the sway bar kit and they all told me i will need it.... The Ultima RT5 do not have the mounting...

give it a go first to see if you can dial it in to the track , if you feel its needed then i am sure a neat solution could be found , most people fit them after being told they need one and still dont have a clue what they actualy do.

I bought a 7.5t Tekin RS-pro sensored ESC + motor and I was wondering how to gear? Everyone has 4.5-6.5 at mt local track and they all tell me they have hard time to handle the cars so I thought a 7.5t will be my best bet

RE: just bought a ultima rt5

gearing depends very much on the grip levels and also on the size and layout of the track , i am not familiar with the well regarded Tekin system you have , i would check the manual for it and see if tekin suggest a start point for gearing, i use 7 : 1 final ratio with my buggy's running 5.5t system and every thing stays well within heat limits , although i do run on a technical grass track, for a bigger more open track i would go up to 6.5 : 1. take a few different pinion's and adjust at the track. hope this helps a bit.
