I have a question, what parts did you use from the tt01 gear bag

Doahh, you have inspired me to get a beaten rc car and make it new again, I already have the Tamiya TA05v.2r, Tamiya TA06 pro and a HPI Savage Flux XS on my mind [&:]

Cool! There's plenty of them out there on eBay, waiting to go to a good home, and wanting some good ol' TLC.
Not to be off-topic, I'm restoring a 1985/6 AE "caddillac era" RC10 gold pan buggy right now. That's why I haven't visited here as much as I do lately.

I used the large bevel gears from that parts bag - not the small planetary bevel gears that go on the three-pronged shaft. I still needed the 9mm washers for them, the same way the original gear diff on the TA02 is built.

You just inspired me to look up on craiglist for and old onroad I can fix up. I found the best deal of the century a TC5 or TC6, 4 brushless motors, 5 escs, and a lipo balancer. All for $75.

Why thank you!
Unfortunately, my brother and I haven't been talking since, so it's his loss, not mine. Whenever he wants to start talking to me again, it's all his. Until then, I'm not going to let it just sit there!!!

Looks great man! Just one thing you refer to the diffs as ball diffs but they aren't, they are just the standard Tamiya bevel gears, not sure of the official name.

Gear diffs?
Gear diffs?
My cousin and I each bought the same ball diffs for our M03-L Mini Coopers, and the splines on both of the gear box joints failed after one run; and we were only using brushed motors. He had a Trinity P2K2 pro stock motor, and I was using a Trinity CO27 pro stock. Cheap parts, or just not designed for anything outside of the Mabuchi 540 realm
