Default Tamiya Big Rigs

Why no dedicated thread for RC Big Rigs???

I realize that they are expensive, but worldwide there must be enough interest here on RCU.

I think its because of popularty, and there has been no need for a forum.

Most Big rig builders are expert model builders that know what they are doing, Why would they need a forum??

Here is some my Dad built for other people

I don't see why there shouldn't be one. Why don't you start one? I have a Scania I could post in it.

That's a few of us with RC Tractor trailers. Maybe we can get a number of owners large enough to have the Mods give us our own section.

So if you have a RC Big Rig of any brand, please respond!

I doubt it. I know of a couple of other guys with rigs, but there not too many people with them on here. That and management doesn't seem to like making changes to the forum sections. There was an organizational movement a while back that would have helped quite a bit to unclutter the forums with topics that nobody uses anymore. Nothing came of it.

Should probably just make a "Official Tamiya Big Rig Thread"(I'm sure you've seen many "official" threads on here)

Why would they need a forum??
To ask questions, chat, share pictures, organise meets, sell stuff.. the stuff people do on every other forum..

Here's my Volvo thread.. 1/14 trucks are very popular in the UK, but no so much in the US for some reason.

Probably because most RCers in the US are interested in one thing; driving fast.

Well if they needed one wouldent there be one?

Can u rember back at school when they talked about supply and demand.

If the demand was great there would allready be a thread. So because there is little to no demand that explaines why there is none.

IMO big rig builders are older guys, that dont care for computers or internet forum. I havent seen many expert model builders in any forums.

look,if u think there is demand for one, start on,the worst that can happen is no one looks at it

My point was that there are lots of 1/14 truck forums.. most i have seen are based in the UK, where it seems much more popular.

Most of the RCU members are from the US which explains the lack of 1/14 threads and a 1/14 specific forum, just join a UK truck forum..

This is one i am a member of: http://www.rc-trucking.com/index.php

not only that they also are not advertised well(partially cause RC companies are stuck on the extreme speed part). I'll be honest I didn't know tamiya even made a big rig till I was at the LHS 2 weeks or so ago, and saw someones sitting there in the repair section. I looked at it and thought wow that looks cool, and saw a tamiya logo on it.

Yeah, its kinda rare to see a big rig kit in an lhs. the lhs here has one stuck on a shelf with the plastic model kits of big rigs, and theres not many. This thread made me want to watch some of the big rig videos on youtube. there was one in a convention center set up like a friggen city with a working construction site! Looked pretty damn fun. lol

Well then you should visit these 2 sites.... www.scale4x4rc.org and www.scalebuildersguild.com

There is a guy on scale4x4rc by the name of "headquake" that custom builds his bodies out of styrene and wood..
Also scale4x4rc has a large "Big Rig" forum..
The guys here at RCU don't like changing the forms.
