6 cell speed car
A couple of pics of the new speed car for the ROSSA 6 cell class. Not finished yet, obviously.
Still loads to do. The chasis needs strengthening so I'll add some angle ally along each edge. Make a motor - Gearbox coupling. Install the servos. etc.. etc...
More later

Finally uve joined the brushless revolution!!! WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!! looks like a contender BUT looks VERY heavy, are you going to make a CF chassis for this beast??? Also a upper deck?? the flex on that thing must be out of hand.
If you dont mind me asking how many KV are you starting at?? i have a few 100+MPH cars on 6s just wonder where your going to start from.

RE: 6 cell speed car
Hi Miami. I'm still building IC cars but thought I would try an electric car.
The KV is 1750 so 6 cell is a bit low but can go to 14 cells. The weight is a concern with the gearbox being a bit large but Nics car was 14KG (30lbs) and the ESC and Motor will put out 6 hp with 6 cells. I just need to ensure I lengthen the run up so the amp draw is not to high. The ESC has a throttle ramp V time. This means I can pull the trigger to 100% and the car will go from 0-100% in say 30 seconds. this is adjustable. This will ensure I dont overheat the system.
I can change the chassis to CF but it will only save me a 1lb or so.
I'll let you know how it goes
Cheers

RE: 6 cell speed car
I connected the motor, ESC and cells and had it tuning over on the bench. Just a few more bits to finish and she will be ready for a run next week

RE: 6 cell speed car
Testing the MGM 25063 throttle ramp. As you can see in the video I apply full throttle and the ESC ramos from 0-100 over 30 seconds. I dont let the car get to full speed
