I use this http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXGVR8&P=ML makes it very easy with a castle creations esc.
some escs have a program card, my hobbywing does. example: http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-combo-js1.html
All of them can be programmed without extras, you have to navigate blinking lights and beeps. A bit of a pain but you dont have to do it often. I programmed my castle escs that way before I got the link cable. I have a few others that I dont have cables or cards for.

And u plug that into a computer...if so do they include what u have to download?

yes it plugs in usb of your computer. the software download is free.

So which in your opinion of the 2 suggested do you think is a faster motor for the little m05. And suggest anything on the tire post I have out right now?

after a little reading that motor might be a little too fast for the m05. The hobbywing at 4000kv would be ok, and if you wanted some more speed it would probably handle a larger pinion down the road. A similar castle setup would be this one http://www.amazon.com/Castle-Creatio...nder+esc+motor
that motor is a little slower than the original one I posted. either of those should be perfect.

I do not have a ton of tire experience, particularly with the minis/m05.

even though I am suggesting a little 'slower', they both will smoke your old silver can motor

The motor labeled 5700kv would be too fast - it is the first one I posted. That is a great setup for 1/10 onroad, but the m05 is closer to 1/12. With a 5700kv motor it would get squirrelly and uncontrollable.

With the castle setup Id get the pc link cable too

there are other combos out there, Id shoot for 4000-5000kv for the motor if you look around.

Now ball park kmh mph what are we to expect out of the motor you posted there? ? Approximately that is?

Looks like stock runs around 10-15 mph, I'd think youd easily be in the 20's with the brushless. I dont own one so its hard to guess. While looking up the stock speed I noticed that there are very limited gearing options for the m05, meaning I dont think you can throw any old pinion on there to change up gearing. Seams there is one other option - the racing gears and it is a set with pinion and spur.

Watch this video. This is the speed I'm looking for in this little thing. Now I have a remote with a throttle power control yo to bring the power down. It's an acoms 2.4 if that helps...it's at home right now so I don't know the exact name off hand. He has a castle sidewinder in this I think if I didn't mix the videos up. Would the one u suggested (last one) be capable of this speed?

I did not see what motor he had in there, I would bet that was in the 30's or more (mph). Kicker was the 3s battery, that will definitely make things fast. If you want raw speed go for the 5700 combo, you can always pick up a slower motor later if its too much. look into the race gear set with faster pinion/spur gears too.
