i used soft rubber tyres no drift tyres here.(not trying to drift, just driving around)

4 what use? -many drivers like that tire on tt-01.
-easy to stud them if you are planning to rally on ice.(you will propably not drive on ice)

i use som cheapo sh*t ones from my lhs.

Well today I just completely rebuilt my car and cleaned everything and installed my new esc and 55/25 gears. I notice a really big difference from 61/19 even though its a 15T motor.

how are the temperatures with your setup.. im surprised yoru car isn't thermaling and melting the tamiya plugs.. running that low gearing on that motor would be pushing ti for more setups

i ran 58/24 gearing which is higher ratio than yours on my tt-1 with onlyaa 19T motor and it was already getting heat issues if the day was too hot.

Well i just installed the new gearing yesterday and i didn't have much time to bring it out since the ground was wet and it wasn't raining at the time though. I didn't want to risk screwing up my electronics. I'll get back to you on the heat issues when its a dry day in SO Cal.. I know that its raining over there too for you.

hi guys, my friend has a tt-01 and he has already upgraded bearings, alu prop shaft and heatsink.
He is new to the rc world (tt01 is his first car) and he wants it to go FAST.
hes probly gunna buy 2x3500MaH batteries a 13t limit esc and a 15t motor
what gearing would you suggest for this setup, and is there anything extra he should get before he runs it?

Well i got a 15T motor with a 4200 m/ah battery with a 13T limit ESC. Now what i got on it is a 55/25 Gearing. It does go fast but then you gotta be careful of heat damge of what it can do. Since the motor is being used way too hard. I got a Metal Motor Mount which i recomend. Theni got a universal shaft for Front/Rear Differentials. Im not sure really on what else you can put but just ask around.


and for Zbot... I think using tape to seal off your differential boxes is a good idea but then as the TT-01 has a bathtub chassis can collect rocks and sand. You can try to cut holes in it like some people have.

thank god for this forum, i drift with my tt01, but i would like better handling!!!!

does any one know what kind of other cars' shocks i could use in substitute for the stock friction shock?

I've just installed the TRF Shocks (The coated onces, with the blue caps). They were a bit expensive, but you really can see the difference in the handling... I actually turns when I want it to now.

depends what you plan to do. right now i got a 55/25 gearing with a 15t motor. really big difference from 61/19. id say try it lol. but with this gearing... drifting is a big no.

I was talking about any overheating issues I'd have. I don't really like drifting... just top speed and clowning around.
