good choice on shell FBI, i would reccomend some aluminium front uprights / knuckles. As these are a reknowned weak point on the TT-01

190mm. But, with some deep offset wheels you can make a 200mm body work.

I say don't bother with the front knuckles as I disagree about the being weak.

I would say save your money for alluminum proppeler shaft, ball bearings, good tires, and good batteries.

I have read this entire thread as well as kept up with the drifting section and I have not yet heard anyone mention the uprights on a TT-01 getting broken unless in an accident or hitting something.

The problem with adding aluminum components is they will be stronger, yes, but their strength will be transfered to the weaker parts and cause severe breakage of the weaker parts. As propeller shaft and bearings they are self supporting almost and will not cause problems but help as we all know.

I would advise getting a heatsink for the motor with a fan, because air movement will not be enough to keep the motor cool.

all i'm saying is that is one of the only parts i have broken on mt TT01, mainly because they are so weak and easy to break, along with the front diff

Are there any 190mm Porsche Cayenne bodies? And will HPI bodies fit on the TT-01?

A bit of advice would be great... I got my deans plugs and boy are they tiny! I've tried soldering the battery to the female side but its so fiddly and i think the solder i'm using is rubbish because it never porperly melts and dries into a ball instantly. Can anyone recommend a decent solder to use? And what are the best drift tires to use? I have a set of ABS plastic wheels and they work fine but its just too easy with them. I've heard Yokomo's are decent but which model to choose??? Many Thanks.

I'm just wondering now, i've got a 4000mah ni-mh battery, to power a hellfire rs24 27turn motor with a standard electronic speed controller. Is it even worth the hassle to switch the battery and motor to deans connectors? I find that they're tiny and while they do have a better connection, they're almost impossible to grip and pull apart! Will the switch see any increase in performance or running times?

Here's a tip for soldering the deans plugs that worked for me...

Take some duct tape and wrap the teeth of a pair of vice grips. Use the vice grips to hold the deans plug end so you can use both hands to solder. You'll need to switch the deans plug for each side (just keep the part that you're soldering horizontal with your work area like this = )

As for solder, the only type that I've found doesn't work well is the solder that comes with the battery operated solder gun that is cold to the touch. I'm sure there are people here that can give you specifics as to the best type but I just got the basic solder from radio shack.

Good Luck!

i just sell my tt-01 coz the chassis was bend all over its just for all this hop ups you need to spend a lot of money that wont worth it and about 90usb you can find it about 60usd on ebay but i think it wont worth the improvement it takes.if you want to be serius about race you should look on another chassis.coz this one cant take a lot of strees even with all the add-ons.

Would something like this be ok?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=180067532768

I had an almighty crash today and with my new 1965 mustang body as well! I rammed it straight into my sisters car tire! The front end was completely wedged in because the car was goin that fast, more or less full throttle. I didnt notice any damage other than to the body and the body posts. I'm definately happy with the strength of the TT-01 chassis.

That looks like the stuff I use but I can't be sure because I'm away from home right now. Hopefully someone else who knows a little about solder can comment?

The solder i got hold of was from a small diy shop. Unbranded but the guy just told me it was for electrical. Will the deans actually make any significant improvement?

I got a Subaru WRX Drift Spec for christmas! I put most of it together with my brother (who also got one), except for the electronics. Im thinking a Spectrum DX3, other than the fact that its a $250 item. Is it a good radio, or is the Cheaper ($75) futuba FM radio comparable? Also, what about a new body? My brother was talking about how he likes the EVO VI and I have found one, but I don't know if it will fit the TT-01. https://www.tamiyausa.com/product/it...oduct-id=50862 Glad to join the club of TT-01 owners now.

Too insane.

But, its up to you. Just warning you that the TT-01 cant handle power like that. At high speeds the tt-01 is very unstable. But, who said it wasnt any fun?
