LB, Im not sure if he used the 3 speed, however the picture of the tranny looks just like what Tamiya Experienced has posted.

I can understand why. The frame rails on the stock rigs are very flexible. If you put wieght in the trailer, the tractor will flex up just like the real ones.
This was brought up in the article, and is why he had to mod the chassis.

Was just wondering if the 3-speed is used.. not sure if that's the best way to work for drag application w/ electric motor.. I'd figure a single speed would do the job better (electric motor = constant / instant torque, unlike gas engine) And also, the 3-speed might not have been designed to take big power..

Although I have seen people run sensorless BL system w/ 3-speed.. but no idea how "stock" that 3-speed is... !

But the frame rails are make of metal, though, right?? I am surprised that it is that flexy..

I wonder if it is the same for the new F-350...
Yes, I meant more of a twisting motion, ie. torque

With the 4VWD radio, there is a shift gate for the throttle side. This forces the driver to return to neutral before shifting to the next gear. This allows the transmission to shift while coasting and not under power. If you are at full throttle and shift gears, you might break the prongs when it engages.

I suppose if you were careful enough and learned to shift while not under power it might work.

Tamiya strongly recommends the 4VWD.

Does that answer your question?

Very very nice this King Hauler, I want buy one but..I have no ideea how to build it (i red here but I have not the hand for building).
I am in Romania also is hard to order it because..the custom-house take from me much money but I spok with a firm perhaps can bring it for me from Tamiya Europe.

But...nobody sell it completly mounted or mounted but used (second hand) a King Hauler ?

TamiyaExperienced a question: Why did you say "I should buy 2 Futaba 4FWD radios" Why not only one ? )

Then, how costs for example that you build King Hauler Completly ? When I buy it un then i give it you to build.

And no one sell the King Hauler completly built ?

I think we were talking about getting additional radios for additional trucks, not two radois for one truck.

You only need one radio system.

I could build it, but you would be spending a lot of money for shipping and packaging. Right?
