Default []TEX[] & Lunchboxer's Spec Race Build Diary-Suzuki Swift M03

Time for some good old spec racing!

Spec race will be with Tamiya's M03 chassis cars, specifically the Suzuki Swift Super 1600.

So far we both will have HPI belted X-pattern tires for the mini.

I think we will start with some silver can races as we usually do and then bump it up a notch. I have a mild mod 19T planned as well as a MM 5700kv upgrade. Although i think this may be overkill on the M03 chassis.

Spec racing is quite fun with the 540 stock can actually. Both cars are the same speed so it is up to driving skill. Lunchboxer and I have had many WW2 spec races and it is quite fun. We usually are neck and neck until one of us crashes or runs the other off the track...LOL.

This should be fun, stay tuned!

Devil, I mean, TEX, made me do it.....

ETA end of January.. but I will be out of country then.. won't have it ready until mid-Feb, I am sure..

While we call it a "spec race".. it is loosely define.. as I am sure we won't be checking each other's ride to see if one has more hop-ups or not.. more like, as long as they use similar power motor, it is good to go..

TEX is putting on TRF shocks on his (cheater!!), so maybe I will need to do so just to keep up..

Or using my driving skills... (LOL!!)

Have fun guys but Tex if you're really gonna upgrade the motor to thr 5700 on an M03, be warned that the way the battery compartment was designed makes the battery very exposed - to damages. I managed to break two stick packs on 'normal' crashes on my M04 (which has the similar perpendicularly placed batt holder as the M03) - and the quick release battery holder I have is cracked (and its made of CF!). But of course I attribute this misfortune to my poor handling of power and not putting on foams for more grip []

Thanks for the info, but no i will not be putting the 5700 on the M03. I decided to just us the 19T mod.

Thanks for the heads up on the battery issue. I'll take a look when the kit arrives.
