Here is a picture of my F103GT with Mamba Max and stock silver can. I am waiting for a Nemisis Blue 540 13S motor from fine design. I am hoping it will be the equivilent of a 27T stock, so I can use it at club races.

This is with the painted body installed. My LHS has agreed to let me race in the sedan class, since nobody else has a pan car.
I was asked to run a sedan body, and advised no wedges allowed.
I'll let you know how competitive I am.

So far I have had to relocate the antenna from the stock position to fit my ESC and electronics. I installed it on the upper deck on the passenger side. There were not many issues when building this car. I would suggest maybe getting hex screws as the kit comes with phillips head screws. I have stripped several screws already and I replace them as I go.

Just kidding though, how does the suspension do on unprepared surfaces with little pebbles and stuff?

This car does not require a whole lot of hop ups to improve performance. Here is what I have installed so far.

Yeah Racing 12mm alloy wheel adapter.
This is just bling, added it to get some weight on the front.
Not necessary.
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=20270

3 Racing aluminum upper deck plate support.
I recked and schredded the plastic parts. I didn't want it to happed again.
Not necessary.
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=20588

3 Racing front coil springs.
I found the stock springs work the best.
Not necessary
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=20030

3 Racing aluminum motor mount w/ fan.
This works great as a heat sink. The best upgrade available.
BUY THIS
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=22784

Kawda spur gears. 98T 64 pitch .4 module.
Very smooth a must if you want to change your gearing. You will need .64P pinions. Kawada also has 3 other size spurs available.
BUY THIS 4 Racing Only
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=20374

Kawda 64 pitch pinions for the Kawda spur gear.
You can find 64 pitch pinions cheaper elsewhere, but included the link.
A must if you use Kawda spur gears.
http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/defaul...a&filter_id=22

Tamiya TRF Dampner
A MUST! Second best upgrade.
Can't find the link right now.

The bottom of the car is scrapped up a little, but I think the car drives fine on the street. You need to relocate the washer on the front arms to increase the ride height to about 5mm though.

I would not recommend this car as a basher.

It is an affordable alternative to 4WD sedan. It's a whole lot less maintence and cash. They only really need the motor mount hop up out of the box. I would suggest getting other gears if you are racing. Tamiya makes other spur gears for this car which would not require you too switch pinions. If you got the money I would suggest the Kawada spur gear, but you will need diffrent pinions. I also heard HPI makes some spurs that will fit this car.

It would also be a great carpet racer with foams.

It's a very light and fast drivers car. You need to have a easy finger trigger to keep from doing donuts. However you can get lots of speed and run time out of the car because of how light it is.

Can anyone suggest a good set of 26mm tires for asphalt?

Keep in mind the vehicle on the track is a 1/18 in the photo. It's a good track except for the begining of the back straight there is a big bump in the pavement from the seam in the concreate.

I installed the 98T Kawada Spur Gear & HPI 22T 64 pitch pinion. It really runs smooth. The Kawada has twice as many balls in the diff compared to the stock Tamiya spur. For the grease I used a teflon mountain bike grease from a company called finish line. It works much better that then Tamiya diff grease.

Final Drive Ratio was 4.45 and it seemed to get the silver can pretty hot.

Just got threw trying out the ABC Diffuser in front of my house. It really seems to help keep the rear end planted with the TC Shell. I'll let you know how it goes on race day.
