I'd like to see finished shots as well....but dont rush.......
I just picked up a king hauler with a roof spoiler & animal guard so I can start my "rubber duck" clone....
for those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, google "convoy rubber duck"
my BJ & the Bear clone was getting lonely..........

Keep us posted Goosler! I like your other custom paint job!!
Rubber Duck will be sweet... it will be a mean looking machine!
I put the animal guard on the Aeromax but it just didn't quite work.. ha!! Would probably work okay w/ the M-B 1850L! (w/ its flat front end) Ha!!

Nope, that's not a F103GT if that's what you were asking... more like an older version of the M-chassis?! Not sure.. ha! Need to bust out the old catalog..

It is listed as "discontinued" at Tower website. But I think you can still get them from oversea (like Hong Kong) sellers for $250-300 + shipping or so?
I am talking about just the kit itself, of course...

by the way, the official tamiya showroom in singapore has the RTR volvo in stock for about US$1,200. and the tamiyausa website says that RTR volvos will come in two colours - yellow or red. and i thought they discontinued the volvo!!

Yeah, Tamiya is now doing RTR on semi, trailers, HiLift (F-350 and HiLux), and CR-01! [X(]

ugh I really don't like that idea. The whole point of the semi trucks is to build up one of the most amazing kits that tamiya offers. Same for the CR-01 and the highlift and hilux. All amazing kits and I would really hate to see them as RTR's, but RTR's sell : (
In the end it's not the manufacturer to blame, they're out there to make money and sell their stuff, but more the consumer population. We're saying "we don't have the patience or skill to build up a nice kit, give it to us in RTR!" I do hope in the future they continue to sell a good variety of kits though, otherwise I'll have to buy RTR's, rip out the junk electronics and then disassemble it completely and build it back up!

The thing is I don't understand who they are trying to sell to.. for the hardcore RC fans -> they'd want to build the kit themselves, put in the bearings, paint the shell the way they want... for the average RC fans -> I don't know if anyone is gonna drop $1,200 on that..
So we will see how successful these "RTRs" will be!
